Just thought I'd say hello ;D I've been browsing round a bit and thought it was time to say Hi. There are lots of clearly-enthusiastic owners here with really good cars - a credit to you all. I'm particularly struck with Benmarina16v's Marina T16 Turbo - wow I bet that shifts!
Nice work all of you. Best regards John O

Thanks for all your kind comments. This is my main "play thing": Anyone know what one of these is? My missis and I also have a Vauxhall Sintra MPV and a Rover 114GTa, but this is our main pride and joy ;D

Well done ! ;D If I had a prize, you'd get it. It's #502 of the original 505, and has done 29,673 miles...

hello how clean is your car! Thanks. I'm very fortunate in being able to keep it under cover and I only mainly use to go to classic car shows. If it was a daily driver and open to everything nature threw at it, it would no doubt have gone the same way as around 380 of its stablemates: scrapheap heaven From the original 505 (all made in 1989, other than #1 - the show car, previewed in October 1988 at the International Motorshow in Birmingham) only around 120 of these cars are positively known to have survived. By 'postively known' I mean either the current owner is known, or a car has been spotted still around. I know all this because I maintain what is probably the world's only MG Maestro Turbo database, which contains all 505 VIN numbers and registration numbers, and it relies soley on owners and hawkeyed spotters to keep it up to date. My car was photographed by Polyphony Digital in 2003 for inclusion in "Gran Turismo 4". Sadly it was one of the 100-or-so European classics which never made it. Apparently they ran out of 'development time': not sure how much development time they needed: the game was already over a year late when it finally hit the shelves

that car's been magazine featured, no? Yeah, by its previous owner. If was on the front of "MG Enthusiast" in July 2000.

Hi and welcome. Very nice car. Big fan of MG Maestro`s but never tried a turbo. Is it as good as it looks. Me thinks more pics are called for particularly some engine shots.

Is it as good as it looks. Me thinks more pics are called for particularly some engine shots. Bragging-rights were quite respectable for 1989. 150bhp, 0-60 in 6.7, standing-quarter in 15.4. In a straight line it whipped the ass off standard RS Turbos, that's for sure. Not too brilliant round bends on standard suspension, but it can be made to handle okay with uprated suspension. Engine photos...my pleasure Just to point out I don't as a rule keep the bonnet open with a clothes-line prop: when I took that photo I was in the process of spraying up the bonnet-stay with smooth satin-black Hammerite (the paint was flaking a bit where it clips onto the bonnet). Here's the rear: Excuse the fluffy dog on the parcel shelf: It belongs to my three-year-old twin boys who insist it sits there

Pretty-much standard...the world and his dog went through a phase of modding these things, typically with a T16, but I like to keep mine a standard as possible, just to be different! I had the door-bottoms resprayed a couple of years back and I still haven't got round to re-fitting the "Turbo" graphics down the sides of the doors Ah well, bang goes my concourse award!

I might have a moto-build suspension kit going soon as I will be scrapping my current MG and I don't think I will be getting another.
