Hi all,
Mods if this is considered OT, please delete.
Only posting as these 2 bikes were my mates pride and joy and he is absolutely gutted - something that many of us can empathise with.
It also highlights the lengths these scrotes will go to, to get what they want - in this case SIX high spec chains were cut to get these 2 bikes.
He's done a poster to stick up locally, so I've just cut and pasted the details.
PM me if you might have any info/leads (long shot I know), and I can let you have his number.
Thanks

Early the morning of Sunday 22nd June 2008 (day of the British MOTOGP) a break in occurred in the Rhiwbina area of Cardiff and the above items were removed from a locked garage. The thieves removed two heavy-duty locks from the WR400F using bolt croppers they brought with them. Then cut the locks off the garage door from the inside to make escape. The WR was heard by a neighbor starting at around 1.30am, someone then rode it off down Waun-Y-Groes Avenue, Rhiwbina. The thieves also took a pair of gold talon / exell supermoto wheels for the bike worth in the region of £800. Did you see a passenger on a bike carrying these wheels that night?
As well as this a Honda XR650R supermoto was removed along with its locks. I assumed this was loaded into a van and an escape made. The following morning approx. 5 mins past midnight (Monday 23rd June 2008) a power tool was heard in Hill-Snook-Park (backing onto Birchgrove train station). Soon after a motocross bike started and rode off in some haste in the direction of Heath / Birchgrove. Locks for the XR were found discarded under the trees in Hill-Snook-Park where the thieves had hidden the bike the night before for another go the following night with better weapons.
The WR is recognizable from it’s sticker scheme / hand made ‘one-off’ rear end support (welded ally frame) / Vapor Speedo and stainless Remus exhaust. The side panels and air box are actually blue and black, not the shown blue and white. Otherwise the bike is as pictured.
The XR is recognizable from its Core Racing Throttle Jockey Woody Sticker Scheme / black Acerbis hand guards / black side panels / with large race number 13 in white left & right / speedo is an Acewell 1300 series / wheels are silver talon hubs on Excel rims / tyres are Maxis Gold Speed / headlight is a four bulb alien look. The rear damper can is covered with an IRN-BRU wrap-around .
If you know the whereabouts of these bikes please get in touch. I have reason to believe the robbers had exceptional knowledge of the local area and where to hide the Honda till their return the following night. Did anyone see the WR ride off on Saturday morning? Or the XR being carried from Waun-Y-Groes avenue to Hill-Snook-park the same night? They used a plank under the yolk to lift the front wheel and must have carried it approx. ¼ mile to its hiding place. They either went via Waun-Y-Groes road and up the lane into the park, or via Waun-Y-Groes Avenue and up Caerphilly Road into the park. Maybe you heard the commotion in the park the following night and heard it ride away?
