...these: I was following one yesterday - MINT on an F-Plate - and was wondering about their potential... They're Civics underneath aren't they? CRX engine swap then maybe? What was in the Vitesse ones? Nice and low, euro-wide rims with the obligatory stretched tyres, could work quite well? Very much a forgotten car... Used to be EVERYWHERE but now I hardly see any. Got to be a good choice for a cheap, solid daily driver?

It will always be Hyacinth Buckets car too me.
You don't see many now but then you don't see the 200s that replaced it that much now either.

The Hyacinth Bucket image works for me - imagine a really rat-racer style paintjob, nice and low and wide wheels ;D

Utterly foul creations as beloved by the blue rinse brigade. There's loads of mint ones round here... all driven at 12mph by people in hats.
Drove one briefly a few years back. The engine was quite good. The rest was utter tosh.
Euro or J look one would rule. Especially in that naff mid-blue the all seemed to be in...

My old boss's father had a 213 and was under the inpression it was British through and through. Nobody was allowed to tell him it was a badge engineered Honda as he had been a POW in Japan during the war and had a deep hatred for anything from the Land of the Rising Sun

Great!!!! I would like one of those, they are getting pretty freakin rare due to APPALLING rust problems! I would have a fuel-injected 216 VP/vitesse version, they are dead economical due to weighing only 500g with plenty of zip and a nice, if not very spacious, interior.
They must be one of the rustiest cars of the 80's! KWALITY!

Good place for curry and bashed-up old grey-imported Toyota Corolla automatics though.
