Just thought I would post something about our vans, first one up is the last one bought! 30 years old, 20,000 miles on a V4 essex 2L. She kind of found me as her previous owner found our website and emailed me as she was leaving the country and needed to find the amby a new home. Here she is as she was bought - 12 months tax, a months test. Front discs and halogens already. I have had a good look underneath and I reckon she's more solid than our 1985s!! Now the bad bits. The blue light was ripped off when somebody tried to park her in a garage, but I brought it home with me so it's repairable. She doesn't so much have dee dahs as dahs! And here is the very worse bit - she's had a bump! We need a new chrome bumper and maybe a wing, but in the short term I think this is repairable! I am well chuffed! Also, she's already been in Classic van and pick up (jan 02), just on pic but it means she's already had some camera time! She pulls like a train and has 20,000 on the clock which I am wondering if it's genuine, round the first time! She was a works amby so it's possible. Got some interior shots - And I found a copy of Classic Van and Pick up in the glove box, guess what's in it? Did some bits to the exterior, she now has nice new lettering..... and here she is on set for Holby City We've got one or two other wheeled members of the family that might be of interest, want more?

Awesome......just needs a pic of it outside Maidenhead Town Hall now....that became a hospital for Carry On Doctor!!!
We had a V4 Tranny panel as a band van for a while about 25 yrs ago (let's face it....who didn't??), someone had hoiked the 1663cc stock motor out and replaced it with a 2-litre V4...that went like your granny on whizz.

I see you are Female on your tag, if so..... great stuff, if not, ermm?
Anyway, this is a beauty, an older ambulance is one of very few vehichles I would have liked as much as my fire bus.
Looks like you are into both retro, Ford and Transits.
Great Tranny.

Nice. Drove one last year. Are the sirens foot operated? (by a dipswitch, you don't have to pump!).

Currently driving a '68 Karmann Ghia as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!

Looks like you are into both retro, Ford and Transits. Great Tranny. Yep I am female!! Nice. Drove one last year. Are the sirens foot operated? (by a dipswitch, you don't have to pump!). Everything is operated from the switch panel, and it all works. Don't even have the foot operated wash/wipe which is a common Mk1 transit thing. She's really late so had all of the niceties, even got discs up front and halogens. Where did you drive the amby you mentioned?
