Hahaha, erm, yes. I sort of discovered I HAVE got disc brakes after all. In the absence of my missus (she's upstairs) I've decided to blame her. Anyhow, enough of all that, I have been experimenting with my new wheels. First of all I hope you've noticed that it looks a million times better on the new rims, second of all I want people's opinions on the colours. Yes, I do realise I should carve my own path etc but I'm honestly stuck between both colours. White (imho) looks really good but maybe a bit too clean, especially given the surface rust on the bodywork. Silver, on the other hand, looks almost as good but a bit sort of boring if that follows? I did experiment with some lovely dayglow orange but on a fairly standard car it just didn't look quite right. Please note wheels were only given a quick rattle can treatment and do need doing properly, this was just to see how the colours looked on the car... Or... Opinions please...

I like the white - black would be my preference but you could get away with anything from silver to dark gun metal grey and it would still look fine

Darker colours will make the car look cleaner or whiter in your case.

They look pretty good You need to shout at it a bit until it's scared a bit lower to the ground though. Must be a nice effortless drive with the auto

Flip me that loks ace! If I ever needed inspiration that is the one picture that bought it on Jonny: effortless but kind of surreal watching the world go by and having to wait at junctions/roundabouts for sixteen days until I'm sure the road is clear before I pull out Shavedhead: good thinging fella. I'll test spray one or two in the next couple of days and see how it looks.

they're rs wantanabes btw You say that, but............... Cough. Geek mode.................. ;D They used to belong to me and there was a huge hoo har one eBay at the time because the bloke said they were RS Wats and they weren't - they're missing the three swan 'Empire' stamping that should be on the hub face of the wheel. I did some investigation and the stampings on the back stated that they were MIT M255s. Whether that makes them Japanese or not, no-one can tell, but they're a damn sight lighter than any other £80 Minilite - alikes I've come across! And I have to say cav that they look way better on the Chevette then they did on the Piazza - I think mine's a bit over bodied for 14"s. I'd keep the white theme going - pearl white FTW with gunmetal rims. Glad to see you've got them and that you're chuffed. Hadn't heard for a bit so was wondering............. They looked like THIS on the Piazza:

we had a white cavalier mk1 with a black vinyl , it did look cool ,
I like the idea of the wheels with black centres and polished rims as gtxtra suggested
Billy did you get the boot rack to stay on ok , the rubber feet do dry out with time. ( i hope you remembered to spit on them before fitting lol)
the boot rack on my 1600E had these little adjustable clamps that went from the rack and over the edge of the boot to help keep it on
