This very rare Lada Samara Flyte was a hoot to drive, but was really rotten and I let it go to a b****r r***r for £70! Regret it now, as two weekends in the nightmares workshop would have had it perfect! This Hyundai x2 might not look like much, but I loved it and had I not blown the valves on the engine, I'd still have it!

TR7 ragtop - I converted it to V8 and had it prepped for paint. It was a monster to drive and I loved it - unfortunately, had 2 cars sitting outside the GF when I dumped her - I left in one, came back and the Triumph was gone, it was never seen again........ Wish I'd left in that and not the cavalier daily Dolomite Sprint - bought bodged to high heaven, although I didn't see it and 'rose tinted' won over. It still pains me I didn't get into it and get it done - but work had me out of the UK 46 weeks of the year and the folks lost it eventually - understandable. I'm making damn sure none of the current fleet will join this list though!

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

:)Are old or retro cars ever quite finished? Maybe it's a Skoda thing . but there always seems to be something that needs doing or finishing even when it's "finished".

Very solid Mk1 pre-airflow Cortina, restored it, stored it, then a few years later decided to put it back on the road. Only this time I chopped it 4" and fitted a Rover V8 and Capri rack & pinion. Got halfway through the project and moved house/lost storage so sold it unfinished. According to the DVLA it's now been scrapped.
