Ooohhh!! That's lovely and a real tale of perseverance when it would have been so easy to frag it. Quality work on a quality car, love 'em! Cheers fella, yeah its been one of those cars that i really should have scrapped, but you know.. Lovely colour, looks like you did a great job on the panel work, very smooth Thanks mate, cant take all the credit for the paint or prep, i got it 80% there, and the bodyshop finished the rest. Its still got to be flatted and mopped, it was only painted monday and i was keen to get it back so I'm going to fit most of it up then get it buffed once the paint has had chance to harden. Started digging the various bits and pieces out last night, ill update later with some piccies with lights in and such..

Update.. She's got eyes! Front and rear lights on and connected, just got to fit the dash up and lighting control before testing, but i did it all before it went to paint so all should be well.. Famous last words i know!

I can remember you mentioning the colour but can't find where, so what colour is that please would be perfect for my Uno. Brilliant restoration skills too, gonna look ace when its done especially on banded steels.

Well it started off as being Storm Grey, which is a Rover colour, but this isnt that... Ill have to ask the guy buddy, i kinda picked out a colour from a swatch in the paintshop and did under the bonnet, then the painter matched it (not 100% accurately i might add.. ) as best he could. Ill defo find out for you bud, i could do with knowing myself!

Starting building the dash back up tonight, then i snapped the choke cable so cant go any further with that till i get a new one. Then i tripped and nearly went down the side of it with the Dewalt so i figured it was time to call it a night before i wrecked something!

Looking great in it's new paint. Rear light combination does work very well indeed. I reckon you were wise to call it a night judging by the sound of things.

Howdy all, quick update, ive been busy sorting bits and pieces out so didnt take many photos of the progress.. Please excuse the crappy camera phone pics! Well, the dash, switchgear and clocks are all back in, all of the wiring is finished too! the rev counter looks HUGE on those pics, its not that big in real life! *childish snigger..* SPent the majority of the week making up a new roof lining for it, the retrim kits are available, but the cost is extortionate in my opinion, so with my 'gung ho' attitude I bought a few metres of 'suedette' cloth from Dunelm Mill and got my old dear on the case with the sewing machine.. It came out ok, not my best work if I'm honest, but I quite like it.. The hardest bit was cutting the back window in and getting it tensioned right, I just hope my Ma doesnt need to hang any washing out in the next few days.. Got the wing piping in too, that was a complete ball ache as the painter had filled the gap in the wings with 2k primer and paint.. Suprising just how much difference it made to the front end, kinda looks more 'finished' now.. Opinions are welcome as ever! Hopefully I can start to get the glass back in now, once thats in ill start to get the new carpet set fitted and the seats in.
