Sorry for ignoring this thread - I think they're 24" wheels, but I haven't actually checked for a while. I suppose the next step is to order some bits up, and start putting it together. won't be 24" unless its a kids bike or cruiser BMX mountain bike will be 26", road will be 700c (or maybe 27" if its old)

bazzateer - It's something different. It's light, it'll be trickier to build, and it'll be a new experience riding one. I thought I could have went and bought a new touring bike at the shop or something, but instead I'd try something a bit stranger. Plus there's a definate coolness to them, that draws me in. Hmmmmmmm..............Fairy Snuff

Yeah, I got it as a child, it actually is a 24" bike. I was having a quick look over it last night though, it's going to need new tyres and tubes as well. I'm wondring if it would be more worth it just to buy a new or second hand bike..

Unless your short it will look kinda interesting - i'd be inclined to just get an old racing bike from the tip :-)

i love the snobbery of ss/fg nazis ;D i sometimes peruse ss/fg london forum,.... what a bunch of pee-nisses i have a brown schlangster, they hate the langster so much, yet the guys i know ride them are 'old school' riders of 20 years and don't care for fashion, but want elite design and r&d, appreciate new technology, and dig upsetting the purists all good fun though, i loves my ss bike as much as my ibis mojo mountain bike

I built up a fixed wheel bike ages ago. just some old bike parts from the loft. Had a Rudge roadster frame with steel 26" wheels. Had a front brake. But rusty rims. I did 40 miles in a day. The rusty rims ate a pair of brake pads that day. The cranks were bent so my legs hurt. Didnt try anything fancy. Like track stands or skids.
I biked it to the dump. And chucked it in. the local kids brought it out. Would see it randomly left on the roadside. Had some more rides on it.

Derry Dude. I moved in to Derry recently for college. Used to courier in Dublin. If you're ever up for a cycle when you finish your fixed or need a few spare parts drop me your number. velospace.org/node/26700this pic doesn't do the bike justice though... Haven't seen anyone with a fixed in Derry. Be good to mess with a few tricks and stuff if you were up for it.
