mark, where did you manage to find the <3 Nissan sticker you've got on your glovebox? I've trawled jnc and various blogs to no avail. ...(haven't got one spare hidden somewhere have you?)
Love the build. The fender mirrors *make* that car.

Camerashy, I made it, I have access to a vynil cutter at work.
Hairnet - Yeah I know - less is more and all that. Still issues with tyres though. 145/60s don't really come in an appropriate load rating and they are as expensive as 175/50's.
Mck, I'm still thinking about it.

The spoiler is home made, its just a peice of 4mm thick mdf with a few coats of satin black. It lasted pretty well, but met its demise as I rushed into work a bit late one morning, coming down off a speed bump the front dived further than usual and that was it for it. This week I have mainly been thinking about tyres. 165/55s to be precise. L-R 8", 7", 6" From the other end, I'm committed to going with 165/55s at both ends now, rather than those on the 7's and 145/60's on the 6's. The load rating of the 145's available is a bit iffy really. I'll still have to put up with having the bit of stretch / no stretch at all difference front to rear this way, but working at the lowliest budget end of the modding spectrum compromises have to be made. I'm booked in my friendly local tyre shop for a pair of 165's for the front tomorrow afternoon. the 7's have part worns on already so I need to pull my finger out and do some machining to get them on properly.

i would think of doing a bit of stretched tyre like 155/55 (to keep the profile the same) and have the 7's at the front and 8 at the rear

I got some spigots made for the 7's, they are on with the nice looking 165/55s on the back. I've also get some nice new 165/55s on the 6's on the front. I've made a bad choice and don't like it. On the way home, this is the wide side, where the panhard rod has shifted the axle over. The other side, this has a 10mm spacer, to even up the gaps, but its has nothing like as much poke as the other side. They will fit nicely when I re-centre the axle. I don't like the difference in the look of the tyres front to rear. I don't even think its that much better than when it had the 155/70's! Though it does now need a bit more drop to loos the arch gap again. So I *need* some 145/60's or some 7" wide slots. Can anybody help?

Did you thought about 145/70R13?
And how will it look and handle when you put the widest wheels and tyres on the front and the smallest on the rear, it should be more neutral.

145/70's are a fair bit taller than the 165/55s.

These are the more angular version of the simmilar type to mine. I think there are a bit cheaper too. Pretty sure that these are the ones seen on the Delamin8 K11. There's no lower profile 155 than a 65. 145/60's are the only smaller tyre option, but like I've said, they only come in light weight load ratings. Having said that I have one part worn comming, so just need to find another. I've also had a lead on another pair of 7x13 slots, not sure what they are, not Wolfrace though. They have the rib on the lip so they are not cobras either, unfortunately the slot shape is very different. I'm umming and ahhing about them, I don't really want different yet so simmilar wheels front to rear, but could I suppose run then side to side - they are apparently the same backspacing as the wolfies, so probably very close offset wise. Would any one notice, particuarly with them painted black? Would it only be me who didn't like it every time I saw it.

The splitter is a peice of 4mm MDF cut to shape. To keep me mobile while the future of the LX is still considered I've bought an L. Resplendent in brightish red, its very nearly as base as you can get - intermittent wipers - No, trip meter - No, digital clock in tep gauge - No, sunroof and popouts - obviously No. It's really rather fabulous in its bare unequipped state. Confusingly it does have the rear wash wipe - which is a shame as I will have to stick a rubber grommet in the hole when I remove it. Bodily its not perfect, there's dink in the N/S c pillar and hatch that will need a little filling and painting and it will probably need outer sills next MOT in august. The front crossmember is solid as a rock though. Its taxed until July and as mentioned has MOT untill August. Its been in the same family since new - parents then daughter using it and has a megre 51 thousand miles. I'm pleased. It'll look the business when cleaned up, dropped over wide slots, de stickered and bump stripped.
