X1/9 prototype? Loving the T2 service barges *n It looks like the T2 is the Hotel minibus (not only are the the Holiday Inn decals a clue, it's also fully windowed and has 'jailbars' on the tailgate)  The service barge to the right isn't a VW, and logic would say it was a FIAT. A 238?:   Certainly the rear end looks the same (bumpers/hinges). The X19 prototype looked a bit more outrageous than DarrenW's pic...I think we're looking at a factory prepared rather than a prototype. Did the factory prepare and race the cars themselves? |

It's one of the Abarth racers, isn't it? And you're right about the Fiat barge - I suspect, anyway ;D

Here you go...  This looks like the car, which although I'm no expert at the Italian language looks like it harks back to 1974. (which also makes sense as that T2 is around the same age - having the later rear lights) More (Italian) here: www.autodesign.it/x19/abarth |

I've just noticed it says 'prototipo' on the side!
(although the Fiat X19 was introduced in 1972)
