just realised I been an idiot glen, your after the plug and loom that goes into the CDI box that mounts on the frame, right? I got kerfudled and thought it was the loom connection to the CDI trigger on the engine. apologies for my lack of marbles there. still haven't got one going spare tho, sorry Tom; ordered some 8" monkey bars I thought about zed bars yesterday. looked, stratched, thought and then forgot it. the way things were shaping up, I was due a disaster I was originally gonna do some flat bars mounted on two collumns, like harley drags. was going to mount them onto the 2x M8 threads in the top of the fork re-enforcer, through-bolted, but would have put them far too far back to be usable. I have got some highway 6" risers and norton flat bars in the shed. problem is the risers weigh more than the lifan engine won a quickly tank off fleabay ;D and brought one of those manifold adapters from the link Ash posted, thank again for that link bud! they ask for the make, model and year of monkey bike. I apologised for it being a 199* c90 banjo bolts for the oil cooler arrived in the post today. half an hour after I went to colchester and brought some others

Cool, I should've pointed you in the direction of the guy who did my oil lines- mick at phone a hose, good guy, very good prices. I've got the beginnings of summat fresh on the go...question is, can I leave well alone? I've got some old Tee bars in the shed if the risers and flats don't work out for you?

cheers, but theres a great lil' company in colchester called anglia hose and hydraulic. proper counter service and everything is available over the counter. I was flicking through their catalogue of 12v air valve's and hydraulic solenoids. now thats dangerous ;D flats and risers are for when I eventually get an old school project on the go. however I seem to have a new "great" idea every week ATM, I know its exiting, but then i just daydream about building something else, AAAARGH!

I've been contemplating someting 2 wheeled and cheap to do the 2 and a bit hop to the lockup from my house - what are the legalities of such things??
can I ride one on my car licence, or do I have to take an additional test??
insurance cost much? - do you declare the mods, or keep schtum??

I reckon with some gear fiddling (easy, its on 14t and you can get 18t front sprockets!) it may do 85, that will be scary

cheers for the info, I've had a dig round, and if I stick with a moped I can get away without a cbt (I think!) - hopefully my new thread will generate some more ideas, but for now I'm definately thinking of getting a donor engine and ID and seeing what's lying around in the bicycle pile! what's the crack with this msva test? I'm assuming it will be as much of a pita as a car sva?
cheers! - kev

Really like the feel of this, you re painting or leaving the scabs?
1 suggestion (a purely IMO), dropping the headlight 3-4" would really tighten up the lines you've achieved so far with the new tank.

exhaust is a pit bike one from OOracing.com. I fancied a high pipe and got that one. much better than the anodized red/blue awfulness you usually get on pits. and its for 140-160cc bikes; a bit bigger on the bore. don't want to strangle it ;D* and dropping the headlight would work in theory, but the bars would be unproportionally highly mounted as that is the top of the forks IMHO. glad you all like * and it was under £50 so fits my budget ;D

£140 for 140cc sound really good, gotta link? the old man has three of these things, always complaining about the lack of wheely power perhaps if I could sort out a bigger engine for him, I might just get it out of the spare bedroom (which used to be mine) you wont get it in as that engine uses different mounting points I'm afraid

i ran 152cc in a dax on drum brakes and it was scary as hell... 140 in a cub is also scary.. those front forks are bloody awful

you might have to grind the casings slightly to get 18 front on it mate.. that should be good for 120 kph when its done which will deffo be entertaining on that running gear !!! just make sure you get the 428 sprockets for the front if you roder online as I'm sure thats what the cubs used rather than the 420 used on monkeybikes
