I havent got any pics but i used to own a tele custom (1972 i think) which i paid £750 for in 1999 and sold for £2400 in 2003, i also had a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in tobacco sunburst which i paid £1700 for in 2000 and sold a year later for a fiver under 3grand!!!
Put it in a hermetically sealed glass cabinet out of sunlight and away from any source of heat and wait 20 years........your mortgage might get paid off LOL

Nice tele! I have a selection of old guitars and my Dad has a few too, basses as well. I much prefer them to new ones although admittedly I did treat myself to a new Fender shaped Christmas present (deluxe US 'Fat Strat') when in the States last December as the vintage ones were rather steep in price! I tend to like cheap obscure old guitars that are a bit battered rather than mint condition ones. My current favourite is a childs size (1/2 normal size) 'play and learn' mini acoustic spanish guitar which sounds pretty terrible but is fun to play. It's especially amusing as I'm over 6 foot and the guitar is tiny! The latter sounds like it would be fun to record! I have a crappy band (crappy in that it consists of my mate John and me, and I sing , and John plays a 20 year old battered spanish guitar with a mixture of nylon and steel strings, all knackered and it all detuned massively).

i feel really inadequate now cos my axe is fairly new, cheap and I'm struggling to learn to play. fcuking my left hand up about 7 years ago is causing problems with some chords and finger work on the fretboard. on the plus side it is V shaped, and will make a nice ornament when i get p1553d off and give up.

I'm a massive fan of vintage guitars, even though I'm a drummer myself.
Old drums sound curse word, old guitars sound heavenly. My current guitar collection consists of a Les Paul custom and a Kramer strat copy thing. Both for Guitar Hero III!! One day I will own a 50s Tele, a Jag-Stang and a Sunburst Strat...

Old drums sound curse word I beg to differ old chap. Why the hell would charlie watts still be playing the same gretch kit that he had when the stones started if they sounded curse word. Listen to the drum sound on abbey road, led zep 3 or live at leeds.

After four years away from it, it looks like I'm gonna be back in a band again.....I've had an itch for the last 6 months, and thanks to a local 'Classic Rock' covers band (Hendrix, Zep, Floyd etc etc) losing their bassist I'm gonna have a go at scratching it.

Cos i'm proper stuck in the '80s I used to have a couple of retro basses when I was in the band.
A Westone Thunderbass and a Steinberger plus a Trace Elliot Bass Combo!
Like everything though, as you move on you sell the things that arent needed anymore!!!

I used to run one of these: And one of these underneath it: Awesome sound, was only rated at 350W but boy could it kick out some noise. Great for summer pub gigs where everyone had a sweat on, I could stand in front of this and the air would cool my back!! Wish I hadn't sold it all now, but I'm looking longingly at the Ashdown MAG300 combo, which I can run with the 1X15" Hartke cab I still own.
