I'll do a quick update now, more as and when I can think about what I've been doing in there...
First off is the 'workshop end'. It's now been insulated, boarded out in OSB and at least partially painted. Might finish that tomorrow, will see how the day pans out. Might not, we shall see. As you can see, the workbench is a tip, covered in various bits of various things that I've been working on. You can also see the addition of sounds (Arcam Alpha 2 amp, Maranz CD player, Denon tuner, Wharfedale Pacific speakers and a laptop with a variety of choonz). There is also some power there now
I also poured this little slab last weekend, to the left of the main workbench. I'm not going to tell you what it's for, you can wait and see
Hopefully all will be revealed mid-November. I just want to board and insulate the ceiling/roof (as far as the walls have been done) before the new arrival...
Got this beauty plumbed in after owning it for 10 or more years (currently has a single 3hp motor but can run two). Wired in to its own 32a supply, you can see the commando socket to the left of the pic
These LED panels are great! Bought a couple to test and will be putting them up when the new ceiling goes up. As time goes on, I may well get some more for the rest of the garage. And maybe a couple I can hang from the rafters for if I need additional light
My dad passed away a few years ago, and my mum a couple of years ago. My sister moved into their old house, and I've gradually been bringing some of the stuff from his garage over. One of the things was this brazing hearth, nestled in against the welder on the trolley that the GF bought for me a while ago
Filing cabinet came from my sisters workplace when she was made redundant. They were clearing out the offices and she asked me if I wanted one. It is ideal for keeping things in that I don't want general garage grime on
A couple of shots to see what's currently filling the space...
And I'm playing with this. I bought a load of boxes that contained almost 2 complete bikes. I didn't really want them, but they were local and cheap - figured I'd make one good standard bike and flog it. Got bored building it back to stock so decided to make something a bit more interesting instead... Currently trying to route and hide the wiring and associated gubbins.
Just a couple more thoughts about the garage:
Still no glass in the main doors
Still no render or cladding on the outside
Still generally warmer than my house!
That's all for now, I'm sure more will come to me as time goes by - hope it is still of interest to some of you
