Heres a cossie my dad made years and years ago. Needs painted etc. Front isnt riding high its because the back axel snapped so ill fix that and maybe paint it!  |

hey volvo544special65 (blimey mouthful that spa) that impala's the nutz, liking the jeep too looks very realistic  undeadghost, if it was your dad's do minimal to it, like you said repaint but do it justice, was your dad's after all well decided to put all i learnt into a new diorama..  take crusty old box from barn..  start ruining it :-)  basic design now with a sand and pva mix painted on exterior wall..  deciding how the interior space will be split up.. tea is essential   looking wibblepoo ;D  lic'o'paint to brighten it up  bathroom tiles make up the showroom floor (they bang light about nicely) but i broke one getting heavy handed, wil cut another tommorrow  now with abit of greenery, tarmac, rendered walls etc..  tbc.. ;D |

I'm thinking about doing the same kind of thing VW, If anyone knows what the MK1 Escort RS2000 livery is thats how I'm painting one of the scalectric cars(Light blue with dark blue stripes on the side and bonnet) Ill upload pics tomorrow, Expect better quality piccies soon too 'cos i just bought myself a blackberry 8800which will be here some time next week!

Copy and pasted from another forum. Picked these up at the carboot at the Rat-Look meet. The 1/18 BMW Z4 from Welly, got it for £1.50 when it goes for £25.   Nicely detailed, even has the bonnet and boot lid linings unlike my other models  Headlights are pretty well done too, I'd be hard pressed to tell this was a photo of a model if the depth of field was larger   And this is the 1/12 Jaguar XJ220 from Maisto, was £80 new and one's going for £40 on Ebay but I only paid £15 for it. In good nick except for a bit of a scuff on the windshield (could probably polish it out) and part of one of the wing mirrors is missing (didn't notice at first, want to try and get a replacement from somewhere)   Also nicely detailed, the suspension functions like the real car with proper wishbones (on the rear) which gives it some mean camber when lowered, and it also has struts to hold the engine cover up  Interior's well done with carpet and stretchy material seat belts that can actually be buckled up  |

Funnily enough, I was wondering if there was one of these threads on here. I collect knackered Lesney and Matchbox cars up to 1979 and renovate them. I'm not a purist, and I'm not a precious collector but I do try and keep aware of anything that might be considered rare and not butcher that since it might give me a bit of cash back. You can see the whole lot at the virtual garage in my signature, but here's a few choice pics of stuff I've done. Iso Grifobefore  after  Mercedes 300SE Dropheadbefore  currently (got some more work do to on this and a new paintjob)  My own personal favourite so far, a Mercedes 190D Hearse which was a bit of a waaambulance before  But now looks pretty smart. I might redo this one as it was an early chop job.  Most of this stuff is 1:64th scale, so it's fiddly stuff, but it keeps me quiet. |
