been a bit of a while since i did any models. I almost finished my 57 chevy but ran out of baremetal foil so never finished it. i've also started this VIP Toyota Century, still needs lots of polishing the roof and bonnet are nice and shiney:

well i got side tracked doing the 57 and century. I found this badly built 55 chevy, i think i must have made it when i was about 10. Thick bush paint and lots of bits missing ;D any way a few minor adjustments: lowered front end, fighter plane drivers seat few other bits. Salt flat racer!

Wow, the scale container and assorted car junk are amazing!! Would love to have that on a shelf somewhere, makes it look like a tiny little man has been building all your models! ;D
The '57 is looking cool as well. This has almost inspired me to go build something, haven't done any scale models for years! Moved on to doing up a Dragstar bike (which I didn't finish), then onto cars. But the models are so much fun and so much cheaper than real cars, must have another go at them.
EDIT: After reading this thread I then went out looking for model car kits, only to find that they are no longer available in department stores at bargain prices like they were a few years ago. Nearly bought a Fujimi Savannah RX-3 from a weird model/board game shop but was turned away by the price of $60 or something outrageous like that. Will be going to a proper hobby shop tomorrow and hoping to get something nice for around $30, perhaps a beetle to make a replica of my car.

Retromat, the '57 is looking awesome! Is that a Latham Axial-flow supercharger on it? Are you going to display it with no bonnet or not?
Come to think of it, since you guys are putting so much effort in on these models, what do you do with them? Do you go to any shows? I went to a scale model car show once, it was awesome! I had a 1/24 Pro Stock Firebird on display, was good fun even though I didn't win anything and mine was one of the worst cars there!

the 1/24 mk2 transit arrived today nice kit has both lhd & rhd dash boards def gotta learn how to do picks as its guna be a beavertail. The Esci transit comes with a back panel, so a beavertail is possible without losing any detail I have a twin wheel axle left over from a Monogram kit, and two front wheels to up the size a bit. think it might be too wide though was going to do a recovery or breakdown truck with a scratchbuilt Harvey Frost crane, but it turned out nice as an old van I left it alone. Got a 1/24 scale Pinto motor as well cause the Transit is sans engine detail. The Esci Transit is quite rare now and fetch good money. Mine was the Hertz one, which one Have you got? Ithink there are three different variations.

Hi dude .... Yep get yourself a Monogram Dually truck, Thats what I would use as the axle looks convincing enough as a Transit one with twin wheels. Use 20 thou plastic card for the beavertail body, its available in a good hobby shop. And you can draw on it with pencil to mark out the shapes. As for tread/ checker plate check out www.kitformservices.com. Hes a Guy called Howard Whitehead and specializes in stuff for model trucks. Does 1/24 ratchet straps and number plates and tax discs. Plus all sorts of other goodies! Hope this helps ;D Russ
