Right, decided I wanna either build or buy a diecast, probably 1:18,and mod with wheels etc. I'm a complete and utter n00b to this,I'm not gonna pretend any different. So,would anyone mind giving me any tips and pointers, and let me know where to start.I don't have a clue where to look for the model/kit itself, let alone wheels andother mods. Thanks in advance guys why not start with a diecast model and mod that, they're fairly easy to take apart and fit differant bits n bobs chop or melt the suspension for the lowered look and sinse they're metal , they're way easier to fill and paint as you can use regular car sprays on them scan ebay for a cheapie used one that will give up its wheels or engine

iv'e just been through every page and there are some nice models there better add a few of my own i made a Tojeiro Buick from plaster of paris as there has never been a model sold of it .the reason i wanted to make one is because i have done a hell of a lot of work on the real car. so i started from a roughly shaped block and carved the shape from there. it took two weeks of shaping and rubbing down. i then took a mould from it so i could make another easier. but i have only made one fom the mould which is at work. the original i then painted. this is it on the real car and Sir jackie Stewart kindly signed it for me recently i decided to have a go at making a Diorama. it is not 100% finished but i am very happy with the way it turned out i took an Autoart Jaguar XKSS and modified it by removing some paint and giving it a little dent. the workshop equipment is bought but i made all the little hand tools, the books, i made the little mug and the workbench and printed all the little pictures on a standard printer. i even made the case from aluminium and put it together copying some of the way a jaguar D Type is put together, so solid rivits and 2BA mushheads holding the cover on . and to show off wasn't cheap though "49FXN" but as i have the real one in bits at the momen't and have had the pleasure of driving it on the road i just had to get a model of it ;D the green piston is out of the real "49FXN" and the yellow/green piston is out of a 1958 Lister Jaguar (the S2000 coil cover is another project i have ) i have a small collection and this is just a few of the bits

The GF gave me a Porsche kit and asked me to build it for her but make it cool so this happened so far: It was red originally but i sprayed it satin black. The idea is that it'll look like a bit of a "spotted" car or a barnfind. However, it did get a bang in the front wing and corresponding door and a bit of a mark in the opposite rear quarter before it was "laid up". I let the paint dry then nitromors the arches, sills front and rear pans, A-pillar bottoms, door bottoms, bonnet and boot edges and around the handles/lights/grilles. After a scrape and a wash off ( i got back to the car!!! ) i sanded it all with 600 grit and then i immersed it in a salt bath to help aid in some corrosion - hopefully. Dunno if this'll work but i'll give it a go. I'm not sure how to distress the seats as they are plastic but i think the windows maybe be damaged too and defo one or two lights/grilles?
