Another thing I collect is retro cameras. I was just wondering if anyone else does? If so I'll get some pics of my small collection if I can dig them out. I have a Soviet Zenit SLR Black Moscow Olympics special edition. Lovely heavy old thing! I used to have a Praktica SLR... can't remember the model but it was 1970's, with a load of lenses. Sold that to a collector when I was a skint student and needed to drink eat. I've also got a load of '70s and early '80s non-SLR 35mm and even 110 cameras in a box somewhere.
I also have a "thing" for Polaroids. I have 3 or 4 different Polaroid cameras. Some old, some new. I just love the pictures they take. Something that you just don't get with digital or even 35mm!
Anyone else feeling the retro camera love?

I've got one of these, no idea how to use it. Baught it as a period prop for taking to the revival meeting a few years ago. Its a Russian Leica copy. FED 2D Zarya is the D with a redesigned top plate a viewing window will replace the view range finder and self-timer will be removed. A less expensive camera made for the domestic market. A second model was planned but not released to the public. A new housing design for the Industar l 26m 50mm lenses with Lathane Glass elements. Focusing collar is larger and ribbed for easier focusing.

I've got an old Olympus OM1 & loads of goodies to go with it, including the uber rare 55mm f1.2 lense. Beautiful camera to use. Hotwire, I've got a 1N that I could sell you complete if you're interested? It's done quite a bit of work, but it is VERY tidy & even still has the original box

I have a Zenit too, an '11' - one of the last all metal fully mechanical ones. Proper 'camerashite', and practically worthless but it takes cracking retro-looking shots. And I picked this up at a charity shop for a fiver, it's a Bakelite Blitz Hexi built in West Germany in the mid-50s. It has a devastatingly simple design, I bought it just for the snazzy swirly lens. I've yet to finish the roll of 120 I've put in it though so no results yet.

Love that Zenit, Milford! Looks similar to mine, but it's a different model I think. Mine weighs an absolute ton too! I'll have to dig out the others that I have. From memory there's a Yashica Electra, a Mamiya (still boxed!) and some more funny 70s / '80s japanese cameras. All picked up for nothing or near that. I've got a Canon EOS888 too, but that's not really retro. Haven't used any of the film cameras for absolutely ages but I'm inspired to get them out and get snapping again. I'm currently just using the digital on my phone, which takes reasonable snaps but nothing earth shattering.

I reckon your camera will be based on an E or EM so an earlier model. My 11 is from the early 80s and the E-series started in the '60s I think. Is it like this? Get some pictures up of your cameras! I'm thinking of getting a negative scanner so I can use it more cost-effectively, as much as I like my digital camera it sadly doesn't have the depth or quality of shots that £8 of old Soviet camera can take.

I just picked up and interesting looking camera in a charity shop. It's a Durst 66 from Italy. It's all metal and really heavy. The styling of it looks 1950's. Any of you collectors know anything about it? I'll take a pic of it and post it up torrow.

That's the puppy, Zenit E, 'cept mine is all black with a different Moscow Olympics logo on it. I'll have to dig my cameras out and photograph them when I get a chance!
