heres the other thing I'm into, Push irons! Trek Bruiser here it is sporting pashley forks which i am going to replace with some much longer ones to change the geometry, with an MX style front mug guard aswell (pics to follow) my Trek is my dirt and jump bike, which ive bodged my XC bits on temporarily to commute. we like to call it "triggers broom" they are 04 SID airs with remote lock out, thomson CNC stem and Bontrager Race X lite carbon bars. all fitted with Titanium bolts ;D these parts will be making their way onto my new frame which is an OnOne inbred "Slot Drop" its called a slot drop because it has sliding mounts on the rear end for the rear wheel and disc brake (which mounts inboard!) the frame is currently being built and will arrive early august. it will be running single speed conversion (32:16) my 04 sids, carbon bars and thomson stem, Planet X pro seat post, on one big nose seat, bontrager cranks, hope mono mini hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rear and 180mm front floating discs with goodridge braided hoses ;D i also had this monty 26" trials bike for a short time but when i started building it the frame turned out to be bent across the rear triangle so the rear wheel wouldnt fit properly shame as the frame was proper sweet! will update more when my new bits arrive!

Was of the impression that this isn't strictly a retro section? Cool bikes, I'm more of an XC type so the OnOne takes my fancy more than the bruiser! I DID have a spesh hardrock which I got as far as updgrading to MX Comps, Hope XCs laced to Mavic 717s, LX Hollowtech 2 and all other drivetrain bits were LX apart from the rear mech which was XT, avid BB5 mech discs. Did me alright Got me round the Hell of the North Cotswolds 50km route faster than any of the other under 18s and it got me to Brighton from London which was cool! Took it up to uni though, where it was nicked the first time I took it out Now I've got a bog standard totally boring trek 4500. Would love a retro XC machine though, an old skool spesh perhaps, or maybe a pace frame! Considering trying to do a buget singlespeed at the moment as well but I think my knees would complain!

since when did being retro matter on here anyway? whatevs.....
yeh i really want to try single speed, although, i get the impression today i have ordered the wrong On One frame, completely by accident. so phone call tomorrow to sort the job out. the difference is i wanted horizontal dropouts where as the one ive ordered *might* have vertical, not such a problem if i hadnt ordered chaintugs for horizontal drops at the same time. worst case i either have to wait for a horizontal frame or swap my chaintugs for a tensioner

I think we need a word filter for this section, so those of us not so clued up on bike bits can understand it ;D
Nice looking trek though!

Well after hitting a tree a few months back on my supreme retro M-Trax 1000, which comprised of too many parts to list I decided to upgrade to this. was the most purpose looking bike in the place, soon to have better mechs though. Me at the very end on the G2 don't worry the J2 are going probably fit my bombers or something a bit better,

i have had to cancel my order on my new frame today, due to the fact it wasnt actually the one pictured, it was a non sliding dropout version, so i am waiting for the next batch of "slot drops" to come out for pre order. just means i have to put up with my far too small trek for now.
on another note, i bought some tyres on saturday, Panaracer XC fire pros, and they're awesome alround! ive also got a good deal on a set of disc brakes, 2007 Avid Juicy 5s with 203mm rotors. bit overkill on the rotor size but at the price I'm going to try them and drop rotor size if i have to

ive had some of those. they're not too bad tbh. slightly slower rolling i think. the XC fire pros ive bought are really good though, quite soft compound, and have stepped knobbles to make then quicker rolling. not cheap tho, i bought the kevlar folding versions

I don't mind paying for tyres on bikes/car whatever as you pay for what you get. They sound good man, what type of riding do you do?
Ahh just noticed commute. lol

they're 185s. first time i went out on them they were proper spongy. spoke to a mate and he said to drop the wheel out and pump the lever, they have loads more feel now, work loads better. the front one is quite progressive, rear is quite savage! have been sideways a a few times!! ;D

Push cycles, my sorta thing. I'll have to get some pics up but I've got a Giant reign with Formula ORO upgrade, a Felt RXC Pro XC hardtail with Bonty XXX racelite bits on & a 1992 Kona Explosif SS built up using scrap-rescued the frame from a skip!
