1974 Datsun 100A - Resto Finished - Big Pics!

That looks a cracker! Should look awesome with a full respray, especially in that colour

Hello all

In 2000, I bought a rather solid, low mileage 1974 Datsun 100A E10 2-door saloon for my girlfriend, Andrea. She named it Humphrey.




Humphrey has been used since then and has required very little spent on him. Some tyres, an exhaust, the odd battery and a head gasket but that's all



Some of you may remember the car from JAE a few years ago. Andrea's always had intention to restore her car and last year we set about getting prepared. A couple of front wings were obtained and a paint shop chosen

This was Humphrey earlier this year



And so we stripped the car down





and did a few bits we felt the paint shop might miss and higlighted those needing attention





Off he went to the paint shop



while the bumpers went to London Chroming









and a few months later







and today



The wheels went to Spit & Polish for refirb









So it's in the build stage at the moment. We're waiting for the bumpers... still! Andrea's little car should be back on the road very soon. With only 40,000 miles on the clock today and plenty of careful Waxoyl application, Humphrey should be around for a few years to come

We're still in contact with the original owner so when the car's finished, we're going to return to show him his old car

I used www.paintshophorley.co.uk/ and yes I would recommend them. Ian is a very nice chap to deal with. They stuck to the original estimate and the finish is mostly very good

At the Bowman I think mate. She's very excited! As am I really. It's been sad to see it deteriorate over the years and I never thought she'd take the plunge but she sees loves Humphrey and sees a restoration as good value.

Apologies for the interlude; we've been on holiday. We've been busy this week though. I got the bumpers back from the chromers and Andrea's been busy restoring the badges and things

I used paintshophorley.co.uk and they made a pretty good job of it, considering how wobbly the car was. They did all the work and charged my lady £2k. It's water-based
