This is my girlfriend Andrea's 1974 Datsun 100A. I bought it for her in summer 2000 when it had just 20,000 miles on the clock. It was amazingly solid so I had to buy it! Aug 2000 It's covered in dents and dings though, even the roof where it was stored in the previous and original owner's garage with things stored on the roof! Aug 2000 Pictured today and with 44,000 on the odo, it's now in dire need of restoration. Though still pretty solid, it needs some TLC here and there and full paint. The original bumpers (patterns fitted now) are with the chromers and we have two replacement wings and a budget set aside for restoration in a few months Today We're looking for a boot badge to complete the car whose name is Humphrey. It's cracking fun to drive. It's used daily and happily keeps up with modern traffic, even on the motorway though without an anti-roll bar, side winds can be a little hairy as can corners! The un-servoed brakes work surprisingly well if you're on your own but adding three passengers adds considerably to the car's weight and you soon know it when you come to stop! The most common comment from people is "I learnt to drive in one of them!" Ferg

I used www.paintshophorley.co.uk/ and yes I would recommend them. Ian is a very nice chap to deal with. They stuck to the original estimate and the finish is mostly very good Ferg

At the Bowman I think mate. She's very excited! As am I really. It's been sad to see it deteriorate over the years and I never thought she'd take the plunge but she sees loves Humphrey and sees a restoration as good value.

Repost from DOC Apologies for the interlude; we've been on holiday. We've been busy this week though. I got the bumpers back from the chromers and Andrea's been busy restoring the badges and things Today: Andy's very excited her car is nearly ready. Should be pretty much there by the end of the weekend Ferg

I used paintshophorley.co.uk and they made a pretty good job of it, considering how wobbly the car was. They did all the work and charged my lady £2k. It's water-based

That, my friend, is great work. It's so nice to see some actual cash being put into smaller Datsuns - glad it came together for Mrs Goosegog.

Stunning car fella, as Matt says it's nice to see so much affection being spashed all over such a car.
