This is what I want the car to look like: Anyone know what year and model the grill above was off as I’m after one of them to. here's mine i started about 10 years ago iff you can get a grill i can make the front panel fit the grill and do the body mods if you are interested

loon: what have you done with the rear doors internally? What are you planning for the rear seats? Are you keeping them?

Are you keeping them? the internall part of the door has been removed and a tube welded into the shut then it will be trimed like a 2 dr , the seats will stay and rear seatbelts fitted the reasons the wagon has not been finished is because i built the one in my avatr and rebuilt my house so time was a bit tight

Spotted these at The Volvo 80th meet at Gaydon last summer, anyone on here perhaps? They look great. I really like amazons, I wonder if I can persuade the missus to trade her 54 Corsa in and get one. No harm in trying I suppose. The grill is handmade by the owner using wooden formers and hammers, If I remember right, every panel is custom made.

I think I made a bit of a mess when I saw that Vock one. Gorgeous. Afraid I can't be much help with a Volvo for parts, but hopefully I can provide moral support

Did you have to do anything to get the torque thrusts to fit?

Did you have to do anything to get the torque thrusts to fit? I had to use some 2mm spacers up front to avoid the calipers, but that was it, some people grind a bit off the off caliper, was thinking of selling mine, they have done about 200 miles, but need 1 tyre due to a punctre

Hey Quarterless, Nice Wagon you have there. If you're desperate for the early grille shells, a few have shown up on www.tradera.com (search under 'Volvo Amazon'), the Swedish subsidiary of eBay. It's better than eBay here or worldwide because occaisionally some truly mental rare domestic market tuning gear comes out of the woodwork. I got my Ellemann Jakobson rocker cover off there by e mailing a bloke who was selling a 123GT rev counter and had it in the background. Most of the sellers speak English, and you'll have to do a bank transfer, but it may well be worth it if it's the early period look you crave..... I'm thinking of putting a '62 boot lid handle and lock on mine when I get it back (the slot that the hinge lock fits into needs to be widened) because I prefer some of the details of the earlier cars. I'm surprised no one has taken a mid 60's 121 and made it look like an earlier car, so they had all the looks with none of the mechanical drawbacks..... Enjoy your wagon. Don't forget Amazon Cars in Suffolk (01379 388400, www.amazoncars.co.uk as well for bits). There's also 555mbm on eBay, he used to restore them and usually has some useful bits very cheap - he had some trim strips for a wagon recently for a few quid. Gordon Hunter is very active on the VOC and is an absolute goldmine of information also.

Cheers for the info mischab18a. I will check those links out.
Well I thought this Exhaust fitting was going to go well, seeing as the new exhaust looks so nice, I was wrong my progress has been halted by every nut being rusty and snapping a few manifold to head studs aswell. So now need new studs before I can continue and I have had to cut the old exhaust off. In the meantime I have cleaned up and painted a few bits including the rocker cover, heat shield and manifold. I have now got all the service bits I need and will do that tomorrow.
Anyone got any of these parts? Radiator Chrome headlight surround Front bumper Washer bottle locking petrol cap

Gordon Hunter on the VOC has done a group buy of SS bumpers with overriders as opposed to chrome, not sure if he'd sell them individually though. He'll get them in from Sweden in about a month. If you're doing the petrol cap, check the rubber collar is okay, they're buggers for rotting if you get a bit of fuel on them, a new one's a fiver and some marine sealant, you're sorted. I'd ask Mr Hunter for the first two, I'll PM you his number.

Anyone got any of these parts? Radiator Chrome headlight surround Front bumper Washer bottle locking petrol cap Probably got some of those bits - I have a very rough Amazon estate that I'm going to banger, it was a spares car at an Amazon restorers for about 4 years and had started to weld iteslf to the floor so I took it away, all the interior and trim is gone but it may have rad, petrol cap & wash bottle still in it - I'll have a look for you when I next pop into the yard. When I get round to stripping/racing it there will probably be some more bits worth having available - spare glass etc... The bloke I got the banger one from is a nice chap, mainly restores / deals classic J motor bikes but also does very good restoration work on P1800's & Amazons & had a few in stock at reasonable prices and keeps spares - could give him a try www.classicvolvos.co.uk/ tell him I sent you.

Finally found some engine studs. For anyone interested they are 5/16th UNC 45mm long, but in some cases 50mm ones might be needed.
