Was it VW Action we convoyed to when you had just fitted the smaller motor and were running it on open headers? I still remember those blokes digging up the roads faces ;D
Such a shame that it was left to get into such a poor state. That paint Stu posted up looks good, i was going to use it on my Celeste bumpers before i got a straight pair...

I'm sure my uncle has one of these in a field in Cyprus, a gold one. He put a big perkins diesel in it a long time ago, but now keeps chickens in it. If you get stuck for a rear screen, I can have a word.

Great that the car is back with its "creator" and hopefully will be on the road to recovery real soon. If you cant get a rear screen, instead of chopping it, how about panelling the opening smaller and using a smaller glass from another car or having an oval "opera" rear glass cut? Just a thought as it seems a shame to chop it - hopefuuly you'll get the proper rear screen for it tho.

At least its in good hands again, none better really considering you built it! I like the "can't afford a new rear screen so I'll chop it 3 inches" approach, tis forward thinking that is ;D Surely its backwards thinking in this case? :-)

'Mr Stock' here says chop it! Looks like the body has already seen a lot of angle grinder action from the qustom qrew so its not like you'd be mullering some mint 60's tinwork. Carry on!

minor updayte. excuse the shonky taken-on-a-camera -phone-just-as-its-getting-dark pics. it needed new tyres, so I chucked a set of 175/75R14 whitebands id been saving(which are in need of a good clean- currently brownbands!), onto a set of gloss black stock rimz. chrome bullet caps and bolts to follow for that spider cap look...... as an added bonus it now sits a fraction lower too- only about an inch to the sills now. who needs gear ratios anyway low and slow so everyone can see ya crusin'. I also figured out why the front hydros were being of the gay, and not dumping. I though duff dumps or wiring, turned out someone has screwed the slow-downs all the way in so it had locked off the front system!! no idea why....... still, an easy fix, and the hydros now work again, slowly, with only one battery per side. still, it goes up and down again.
