Morning Edd !! Glad you got your own car sorted as well. Like I said, this should not preclude you from living. Glad to see you back on track with this though What is CWP ? Your last entry on the update. I suspect the 145km/h is a lot faster than the 110 I saw once on the speedo, remember I was under strict orders from Oldbus not to rag the Old Van ;D I love this photo. Looks kinda "Blairwitch"

well the bus is now MOT'd. had to do some faffing with the brakes as the park brake was sticking on and binding and the rears were imbalanced due to an adjustment issue. also neeeded a ball joint and that has improved its drive a fair old bit! there still much to finish. I had to rebuild the starter today as it decided it didn't want to work any more 30 minutes later and now it does also worked out the main relay I put in was half live the whole time, so a bit of fiddling and re-wiring and that seems OK now. don't think I have any pics to share, sorry

Sorry, just thought I would mention it.
Took about 4 minutes online to apply for and get my tax disc for the year.
5 day wait, and it should be here.

It's a good feeling isn't it. It is indeed. Was followed later by 10am by a really bummer feeling. Called Equity Red Star to inform them of the increased capacity of the engine...... I was paying £89/year, comprehensive..... System voided my insurance with the new engine, and could not compute. Dejected I asked for other options,..... Yes, Highway can do your van for £718/year Highway robbery ? I spoke to the lady and explained it was not a rocket ship etc. Asked her to see what else they could do for me......Not expecting a miracle. At 4pm I got through to them again as I had been working real hard all day, and spoke to Holly..... the case had been passed on to a superviser for review, keep in mind, the Transit is the only one on the road in the UK. She came back with a tariff of £122/year, so about £32 up for the 300cc increase in capacity... more my kind of increase. Also got Flux recovery with that. So a good outcome in the end.

It seems B&D did a great job.
Not a bad deal on the insurrance either in my opinion it's always a good idea to take these things seriously.

Just seen this update... not looked in since 19th May when Tax disc came. Went over to Essex to the Mersea madness show today, got to see Edd, his folks and a buch of guys including meeting young Davenger, and seeing Stuyizz's lovely new car.... pics to follow in general threads. This was my moment of the day.... Edd's solution to short legs and seat being bolted in places for a slightly taller driver.

The WIZARD himself. Builder extraordinaire..... Edd. Engine fits snuggly. Edd and Nicola in the same pic for some reason. Next to Stuyizz's car on fresh Banded steels.

sooo, a lot has been happening lately. the rear wheel cylinder spazzed its load, so i got Grizz to get the spare one to me. it came attached to the axle ;D which is one fun thing to get off. it has 3/4 floating wheel bearings and the bearing is part of the brake drum. you can see the flat locktab at the base of this pic. unbeknown to me, theres another to stop that lockring comeing off. and that only goes on 4.5 turns. but still I got it off. not seen daylight in some years.... brake drum and bearing. this is the tab that holds it! found it eventually so I fitted it and bled it all up no worries. and then I came down the workshop the next day to find.... yeah, the spare leaks too so I got creative. in this pic you can see the rusty bore of the original bus one. out came the special tools. knew I'd use this tiny hone one day! smooth bore! yay. its not perfect but I didn't want to take too much material away and have the seals not seat ever again. teased the seal thrusts outwards (the copper/brass bits in the pic) and reassembled with lots of brake fluid. works fantastic so far. had a lot of running issues, running cold, blowing water and lots more. culminated in some large probs, but I want to talk to Grizz about them first. so have a shot of my first long drive out in it. well, it is a ford
