[ Its an H120 Sunbeam Rapier......this one is back on the road after an forced absence due to having No Floor or rear spring mounts left after the tin worm had its Sunday dinner! Much welding later and a full engine rebuild.....now its snorting its way round the Dorset and Hampshire area. Snorting because the H120 has the twin 40's and the hot cam with various other goodies that Holbay Racing added to the std 1725 Rootes engine. warning.....tuning these carbs by ear can end in tears..... Its spits flames out the carb trumpets when its running a bit rich! Result 1 melted eybrow! Still a bit to do, thinking about lowering front and rear a bit and converting to polybush (some done already). any ideas? have given it a wider track and custom made exhaust system. Thats Retro Rides! More to come............. Ps. Classic and Retro cars gathering on Bournemouth seafront by the Pier on New Years day...... see Classic cars on the prom! I got the photos uploaded, many thanks......

Rapier is to be my next (non imp) car I've decided, I've posted pics of the one I owned breifly on here before, so I shan't bore you with them again!
If you want some help getting the pictures working give me a shout! Lowering would defiantely look hawt. They're leaf sprung at the back aren't they? Also- am I right in thinking they are ford PCD too?

Also- am I right in thinking they are ford PCD too? Correct! But check the centre bores and whatnot. As I found out when trying to fit 90's Ford alloys to a 60's Humber.

[ I must be a bit slow, but trying to add pictures, and not sure how...anyone know how?First create an album on photobucket.com. Save all your pics to the album. Each pic on photobucket has 4 links attached to it. Click on the 4th link, it will automatically copy, then paste direct into the thread. Job done

'Cor! Looks cracking that!
Not a fan of rostyles personally, but still looking good! Custom pinstripe I take it? Standard H120 stripe is much thinner isn't it? 'zorst looks cool poking out from the bottom there as well!

Yes, its a bit fatter than the std H120 stripe... I had it made that way cause it seems to suit the body shape, makes the rear wing look a little less tall and easier to stick the wide stripe on straight!!! its about an inch wider. I like the Rostyles they are dead seventies and bullet proof, but one day might be able to afford minilights maybe or old cosmics maybe..... Custom made exhaust (home made in the shed) the 4 into 2 into 1 goes all the way to the back of the car and thats a side exit V8 landrover silencer and tail pipe.....(had one in the shed and it fits a treat) comes out at a jaunty angle and barks a tuned 4 pot melody! ;D

Cheers for that mate, the carbs were naked for the photo shoot, they normally have a big fibreglass airbox covering their modesty (bright orange) and breath through a nasty AC filter housing.......i have a set of K&N's but need to get a set of jets to suit these. (anyone got any ideas for jets sizes on a 1725cc running with weber 40 dcoe carbs) and K&N's someone might have a Hunter GLS or Alpine with this Holbay spec. engine installed......
