Project Granny underway! Bought off BruiserCapri in early november. Got it back with help from daveyboy, had some bad luck on the way, must have shot an albatross, daveyboy crashed his car on the way and sustained damage to the front of his golf, sacrifice well made...Thanks Dave, a true friend! Concidering the project wasn't going to comence until the new year the granny is now ready for it's MOT...yikes!!! this concidered a general service, some brake pipes, a welded exhaust , 4 new tyres, repair to the o/s/r wheel arch and a bloddy good wash!! Currently it needs a new battery and a new heater motor, so if anyones got one lying around please help me get my baby on the road as it is impossible to see where i'm driving with a misted window. Plans for the future are to increase the power of the engine and lower the suspension. No specification target as yet as I need to get her running around again. P.S. Please don't make fun of the Flash wash it does actually work! See for youreself.

Excellent - Nice to see someone saving one of these, instead of just ripping the engine out of the poor thing!!

Lets clear up car terms: "Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car. "Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car. "Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence. "Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

I've never really understood the point of nicking the motor out of a lovely old barge like that and throwing it in a Sierra. If you ever feel the urge to sell it.....

Very nice! I had a burgundy one of those (I won't tell you what happend to it but it was pretty shot) and was very impressed with it. I'd love a tidy example but I have too many cars inmy fleet as it is and if I did get one it would cancel out any excuses I could muster to buy a mk1 Granny.

I like the bug eyes......
shoot me.
Oh and the granada needs some girth on the rear! Same PCD as mercs with opens up a large amount of wheel possibilities.

Looks like an awesome car. And that Flash wash things seems to do the job nicely. In other news, if you put [/img] instead of (note the / bit missing) on to the end of your sig pic it'll work! Good luck with the project, I reckon these have serious potential for Euro VIP stylings.
