Thanks for the encouragement,it's most welcome. This is a very brief post just to show that I did do the other one and finished them both off in good old satin black. ;D I might start stripping the old struts off this weekend but it's so freaking cold working outside at the moment.

While it's been mild over the xmas break I've managed to spend an hour or two in the garage fitting the new front struts and steering arms. Before I could do that though I had one more little mod to make to the struts. This was to grind the back of the brake caliper mounting lugs nice and flat in readiness for a brake upgrade some time in the future. So another little jig was in order to make sure they were ground as flat as possible. They are now ready for some XR4i discs and Mondeo calipers, once I make a suitable spacer. That should stop the fooker. ;D I did a similar conversion on my old van but only using XR2 discs and calipers and that used to stop surprisingly well imho.

Well, she's lower than she was and now has some half decent wheels and tyres on so a short drive down into Cradley Heath was in order for a pic or two next to a brick wall. ;D What do you reckon??? remember that a change in colour is planned to a lighter blue, apart from the roof which will be metallic black like the wheels, hopefully next year and some tidying up of the bodywork too, especially the rear corners which are the wrong shape and the front panel which is a little dented.

What an awesome machine! Personally I like the colour it's in, but a lighter shade will also look sweet I think the stance on this car is nigh-on perfect, looks hard as nails

I love the metallic blue but just not on an old car, personally I much prefer retro colours on retro cars.

That's a choice looking motor - perfect stance IMHO Thanks Bazzateer.I seem to have lost a little perspective so wasn't entirely sure about the stance.I had it lower but couldn't get off my drive so had to raise it back up by 15mm. ;D

You've got it just right there, the tyres seem ideal too. Win Win Win !!! ;D

Awsome build! Love to see progress rather than just before and after! I would lose the orange indicator filters in the front and replace the rear ones with red. You will find makes a big difference to the appearance.

Clear front indicators aren't a problem but I have never seen red rears anywhere but I'll keep an eye out anyway. Speedshack now sell clear rears which could I suppose be coloured red with dye or something. Hmmm!!!

We used a special spray on our Cortina, you would never know they had been done. Also American spec cars had them so it may be worth looking on ebay US

Hi there, I have enjoyed your Anglia Story. I love the black bubble arched hot rod, I recon that who ever raced that had arms like Garth. I think that the Anglia 105 is a super Classic and has a great shape. I certain fancy one in my stable. Keep up the good work.

Your hot rod Anglia is cooler than a big box of cool thing in a freezer in Coolland (a very cool village in the North Pole) ;D Don't normally like bubble arches on Anglias but yours pulls them off so well! Excellent work.

Anglia68, I've been looking for information and the inspiration to convert my wife's 64 Anglia to coil overs and disc brakes. Thanks for sharing your experience. What model Capri strut inserts have you used?
