The wooden pick ups come up regularly on Deebay..this metal one is definately rarer. The crew cabs are non existant...me and my mates have been looking for one for years.... ahem, did I never mention, that I own a crew cab ? It is orange and I just took it out for a ride : ;D Nice one Jürgen, if only that was 1/1 and not 1/43 ;D

Keep on going, great thread Chris Hi Chris, no you´re right. It´ll be getting a disc brake set up fitted but that will involve a complete "new" front axle. Possibly Cortina and Granada box of bits with a sprinkling of MKI Transit. Normally i would have done it first but needed to see whether the 24V would go in so i´d have something to work around. Will probably bimble through summer on the drums, normally only do 60mph in convoy anyway and rip the bus to bits again when the seasons´finished. That´s what winter´s are for...

Sump is now definately sorted, with enough clearance to the axle. Fitted it today.... you can just make out the modified breather pipes. And bought (for the first time ever!) some of the expensive stuff for the the engine and box. Don´t fancy wrecking the engine for the sake of a couple of quid so got the synthetic stuff as recommended by Ford.

its looking great OB, keep the inspiration coming Thanks mate, will do ;D Got the starter motor cleaned up and fitted, it´s a bit tight but should be ok...(what looks like the engine mount lowerscrew sat on the starter solenoid is the camera angle!) Want to lose the front cats and try and reroute the front of the exhaust. Ford´s way of doing it wasn´t too clever, the cats were directly next to the gearbox, although to be fair they didin´t have much room to play with. ..thats basically the front downpipe with the cat cut off. The stud just had to break didn´t it (even though it´s been doused in oil the last two weeks...... i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa102/oldbus64/Cossy%20Umbau/0702006.jpg[/IMG]If I turn it around 180 degrees it fits a lot snugger and i´ll gain about 6inches ground clearance....... Getting back to the front of the engine, as I don´t have power steering or aircon i´ve removed the pump and the compressor. In fact I couldn´t get the engine in with them fitted. This means i´ll have to modify the fan belt. luckily i´ve still got the 2.8 sat in the corner of the carport so I can rob all the bits I need off that. Start with the alternator... left 2.9 right 2.8 just need to change the pulleys over... gave it a bit of a clean up ... sorted..... it´s going to be a tight fit but i´m getting used to that ;D Hopefully I can fit it this evening...

Dave, not sure if it has been covered, what are the regulations like for this, in Germany? My brother was saying to fit aftermarket wheels to his camper he would need some kind of government approval? Hope this is not to much of a complex question to answer here..

Hi Jim, your brother is right. You need an engineers report for nearly everything over here, its pathetic. There are different ways of registering cars over here and i´ve got mine on a so called red 07 number. It´s one numberplate for several cars. They have to be over thirty years old, the person owning the numberplate has to fit certain regulationms but the most important thing is i don´t have to go to the MOT with them. So stictly speaking all the mods i´ve done are illegal but as long as you don´t drive a wreck or be stupud you can get away with it....hopefully

Cheers tigran, with all this great support it just drags my out into the garage, even if i can´t be bothered.. Cunning plan is to have it up and running beginning of April. (assuming my mate Mike doesn´t fall off a ladder or something) because without him as my chief electrician i don´t have a leg to stand on... ;D
