Fantastic! I really like this build... please tell me you're bringing it to the Retro-Rides Show this year! Thanks again, I'll be attending as many shows as possible with it once it's done, as well as the odd track day if it'll pass the noise test. (exhaust will only be about 3' of 2" pipe!)

A bit more progress, filled the gearbox with some expensive new oil: I've fitted my new high efficiency rad and an expansion tank off a Landrover (£5 on the 'bay!). And made my carb linkage. The standard cable linkage setup when this carb is on a R5GTT is complex to say the least. Spot the mountain bike bits!

Well, a bit more progress to report. I've finished the cooling system now, a right PITA as the coolant inlets for the turbo and carb base are 10mm and the standard Reliant bypass hoses are 1/2". Lots of adaptors and 90 degree bends as space is so tight around that side of the engine. I've also fitted some bonnet vents from an Astra GTE to let some of the hot air out as I'm paranoid about the engine bay catching fire. These are very easy to fit (particuarly in a fibreglass panel) as the edges of them sit on the bonnet and they have fixings on them. It'll be running this month!!(ish)

A bit more done, wiring nearly finished, turbo fitted for good now after "clocking" the cold side to give clearance all round. The shiny samco hoses turned up yesterday and the boost plumbing is now done, (I know it needs jubilee clips, the pipes are back off for polishing) Megajolt mostly wired up, it won't be long..

Steady progress, I've made the exhaust (well.. ,I cut up some bits ot 2" stainless and got a more skilled mate to weld them together) with one straight through box and side exit just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. Not bad for £70 of bits. I've also scored some new front seats. Tan leather from a Mazda MX-5 which are nice and narrow. They've got speakers in the headrest so I might fit some sort of lightweight sound system after all, maybe a small amp that I could connect an Ipod to?
