ok so at the moment the afforementioned chevette is still my bruvs (BORING!)

till we finish his turbo viva.
but in the mean time I find a donor chavalier and rip out the engine (a 1.7 td isuzu lump!)
strip some bits off and offer up the carlton gearbox.
it fits!! ;D
ok but the turbo sits just where rwd mounts want to be
so off with the manifold and turbo!
I'm just going to have to make a stainless tubular one to sit the turbo up higher then.. with a different turbo than
one more problem seam,s that the sump drop is in completely the wrong place.
being a cast ally sump with bolt on steel sump tray its is going to be more work to change so instead of spending hours cleaning an ally casting and un burrying the tig.
I get a steel sump from a corsa
and chop the bottom off ;D
and start making a new lower section..
its not pretty but then I only have a half hour luch break so after ive had a cuppa and a smoke it doesent leave much time to do homers!
this is how far I got..
hopefully it should be done in 2 to three more luch breaks and painted ready for fitting..
more updates and pics hopefully over the weekend.
