Been a while since I updated everyone, lots of filler work done, but not much to show for it as its slow work. Also lost my mojo for a bit, so struggling to get into garage at the moment. So where were we? oh yeah, dash was being done, well its completed now, all smoothed out and blended into the cage spreader bar. Started prepping and filling the n/s sill, loads of work there, but its done now, and have now moved on to doing the A & B posts. A posts are a nightmare chasing the filler flat around the louvre vent, as it keeps adding grooves/flats onto the side just done. B post needed a little work with the flipper to get it straighter, then a liberal skim of filler to level it off, half done here. A quick coat of primer to see how its going. This revealed several areas that needed more work. Finally I got around to painting the door bars on both sides too, even these needed loads of filler work to get rid of draw marks and stampings. More soon

Cheers Street, when we gonna see more on yours then? I'm getting there mate, keep chipping away at it and I keep looking on threads like yours for inspiration whenever my mojo needs a top up! Your attention to detail on the inner and outer A post and bulkhead is really impressive, the devil is definately in the details

Though I'd update the thread again from the bowels of the forum ;D Work carries on, .......and on, and on......... Drivers side needed a lot more work, but several skims of filler and some hammer & dolly work got it looking ok. After a bit more dolly work on the high spot (black circle in filler) it was all straight, so I laid some primer on. And then rubbed half of it off again Had to weld up a small split when hammering a weld line again, so while welder was out I got around to adding the strengthening fillets to the shock batwings on the rear axle, it can now go off for media blasting. More work later on the side of the car and another coat of primer went on. Sills looking mighty fine and its only primer A post still needs rubbing down again and more filler work to get perfect, but its getting there.

Hello......anybody there? Moved on to the rear quarters now, n/s needs some work as the fuel filler hole was filled on this side. This is after about four layers of filler work. and then some primer. o/s needed a lot less, primer on here, Inner dash area is prepped & primed And..........woohooo!!!!!! some gloss goes on at last!! Gloss grey for the inside of panels, easier to see what I am doing in the nooks & crannies. And after taking the masking off again. Not much progress for a bit now as I'm off to whizz down mountains at breakneck speed, yippee!!

Mental amount of work gone into the bodywork. Is black going to be the finished colour?

The sheer amount of time, effort and great skill that you put into one panel far exceeds what I am capable of doing to my whole car.I just don't have the patience.Or the skill. And I'm too lazy. I can't wait for this car to debut so I can see it in the flesh.Actually I want to stroke it,is that ok? Probably not. ;D Top work anyways.

Dragged this up from the bowels of the forum ;D Another update for your viewing pleasure I have previously replaced most of the gutter around the boot aperture where it was rotten, but after media blasting some areas were looking a little flaky where there was not a lot of metal left, so I decided to bite the bullet and chop the rest out and replace it. A new top section has been folded and stretched to shape here. And all welded in here, (it took longer to do than to type!) The lower 3" on both sides was chopped out. And new metal welded back in. The whole lot was then smoothed out and shot over with a coat of primer. Doors 'r next

Thanks LuckyGti, Doors now, Drivers door first, block sanded here and a 6" thick skim of filler applied ;D After several weeks of sanding down over 7,000 coats of filler it was time for a guide coat of primer, And then all rubbed down again Bit more filler work and time for a proper coat of primer, Looks pretty good now, just some little bits left to skim over While that was drying off I ticked off another job that needed doing, earth mount points on the chassis. I added 2 as I don't know which side I will use yet. They are stainless steel so can be left exposed for a good earth, and nice looks. Smoothed off weld and applied a quick coat of primer here, With that done it was time to cover the other door with 6" of filler ;D Then block it all down with the very essential longboards and also massage some of the metal with my trusty flipper (just seen in bottom of photo). More updates as I progress.
