Another step nearer last night, new stiffer front springs fitted and I now have a rear window Rear side windows hopefully going in tonight, one should be easy but the chop altered the other window hole so it will need a bit of TLC to get that to fit correctly. Doors will be a bit more work as runners will need bonding to glass first. hopefully weather will be ok wed as off to a local cruise - with or without glass fitted.

Your right about the fettling,
So many people bung it together then complain this and that isnt right,
These issues can all be addressed with a bit of patience, then you end up with a sorted car.

Well curse word. curse word curse word curse word curse word Struggled to fit side rear glass tonight and what a job it was. Not happy with the result so checked glass against template, they have cut it too big. Not by much but enough that it does not fit properly. Will need to get them to re do them.

See? Its always good to log on to RR! Sucks about the window but at least its an easy to solve problem and its not because your aperture is out of shape or something!

Took it to local meet tonight with its new springs fitted and raised ride height. Drove nicer but still not where I want it yet. Was at a set of lights (red) with a guy in the next lane looking over it so when they went green I nailed it a little bit 'kin ell!!! did it dig in at the back and lift the front! even stiffer springs needed I think as now paint missing from both rear tubs even with the raised ride height - was fun though

^^^thanks mate^^^ Been quiet as thrashing to finish car for Billing next weekend. Plodding through all the duller but neccessary jobs like door glass felts and adjusting the electric window mechanisms to power off at the correct times when windows are fully closed/open. Turns out the passenger motor is a bit shagged -as its a Rover SD1 not easy to replace - but Rimmer Bros are selling brand new ones off cheap - result! Might order a spare as unlikely to get them after this. Door mirror mounts are now fitted with reinforcing plates inside doors with M5 studs so easy to remove when required - they are Sikaflexed into the door tops. Flatted and polished the inside edges of the doors and the bakelite trims so I could fit the door rubbers and felts to those as well. Hoping to get doors completed today so I can move on to boot rubber fitting and then maybe start to get carpets cut. Just hope the rear side windows will be re cut in time!

Boot rubbers now fitted as well as rubber seals between flip front & inner wings. Took a mate out in it this afternoon, cruised around a bit till it was nice & warm the waiting at some lights I gave it some right foot - apologies to the BMW driver who curse word themselves next to me when it pulled a big wheelstand on the left front wheel!! Was a bit of a surprise for us too! Next set of lights I floored it and my mate just shouted JESUS!!!! - I guess it's quite quick then So of course we then had to take some photos on a private test track........... Think it might need a rear anti roll bar......... Alternator seems to have stopped charging - though it seems to only be the belt has stretched and gone loose - will find out tomorrow when battery has been recharged. Temps all seem to be in the right zone; Water around 190 -200 Oil about 200 Trans around 170/175

Hoping for mid to low 11's once its sorted. Already got pre load in drivers rear.... Chatted to spring suppliers today - they won't advise but did help me calculate I have approx 487lbs weight on each rear wheel so theoretically need 500lb springs. Bit unsure to buy without further advice as they are £80 a pair & non returnable Fronts are 500lbs as well, but these compress 1" static so looks like 500lbs weight on front so pretty good weight balance for handling - maybe less for hard launches though! looking at getting a rear anti roll bar fitted if there is room - should keep it much straighter according to other quick pop owners.

Is it an issue with not enough wheel travel on the front rather than to soft on the back as you are using the ultra short struts? The wheel looks quite high in the air but also still high in the arch. Not much drop. I am no suspension guru by the way just showing an interest.

Jonsey, Yes you are correct on the front part - there is only 1" drop on the front struts so any lift is exaggerated by this. The back does drop way too much though as it keeps removing paint from the inner arches, lol.
I'm happy to have front wheel lift, but I'd prefer it to be much more even and kept to only an inch or so.
