Cheers everyone, I was going to bolt in the fuel tank today - but that led on to fitting the handbrake (which works really well) and fitting nylocs to all the rear suspension till I ran out of them.
I then got a lot of parts out of the loft & spent the rest of the day flatting & polishing all the boot panels and also the fuel tank.
That's a few more jobs ticked off the list anyway.

It fired first time last time  I'll need to go through the MSD info to set basic timing as I can't use a std timing light on it apparently. |

Every time I look in on this thread it leaves me feeling slightly inadequate just by seeing all the work involved in a project like this.I'm sure it will be all worthwhile though and i hope to see it for real one of these days when it's all done. |

Looks great, but I'm sure it's not a spot on yours and is not built with OCD. LOL!!!

Ta Shame to cover it in carpet really but it will be covered eventually. Steering went back in tonight but somehow the steering has grown 3mm so my self cancelling indicators don't anymore. Another part that needs modifying again  |

Maybe, or it might be the light of the oncoming train Not much to report as been on hols to Scotland last week. Since I've got back I have now finished the steering & sorted the indicators cancelling correctly. Blown in some paintwork on the underfloor brakes cover where I had chipped it & touched in a couple of chips on the body. I finished the exhaust on the drivers side tonight, then let the door swing open - not fitted the check strap as yet - doors now hit the exhausts so its exhausts 1, paintwork nil Lucky the doors aren't polished yet  more bits to blow in Done quite a few other small jobs too, std stuff - tightening bolts up for good, finishing trim bits etc. I'm a bit surprised with the Edelbrock carb - it has no throttle return spring fitted, not even a light one, so I could do with photos of anyone's setup if they have an Edelbrock to see the best way of fitting and also what type of spring I need. |

Save me searching the thread, what Edelbrock is it? I have a 600cfm performer on my Olds, shall take a look this evening and see how it is set up if I remember.

Hi Sam,
It's an Edelbrock 650, but I'd like to see any type to show how/where any springs are mounted as it's completely different from my Holley.

Had a play in the garage tonight, got all the exhausts finished and made some plates from 5mm ally bar for the door strap stoppers. After that I sorted a spring that I had at work as a sample and fitted it to the carb, seems to work well but might be a little stiff but then I prefer a stiff throttle pedal. Exhausts;   Door strap plates;  And throttle spring;  |
