Tonight I spent most of the evening searching many boxes for bits, lol! Found some of them, so the battery cables are now fitted; And bolted into the roof; Also brush painted the wiper motor and some little parts for the roof bows. Fitted a few other little items not worth photographing. I was going to fit the wiper motors but I need new nuts and also the washers to fit under them to avoid scratching the paint when they are done up. Anyone know where they are sold?

Loads of similar ones, I'm sure - I think the main differences are the angle that the spindle pokes through the scuttle at, and whether the car was posh enough to warrant a bit of chrome on the seal rather than just a thick rubber washer.

Cheers guys,
They are Mini wheel boxes, I'm not using the rubbers on the outside they will all be on the inside with just a washer & the nut on the outside showing, which will be flush with the end of the shaft.

I'd suggest at least a fibre washer on the outside - these spindles do love to leak around the outside edge.

Thanks Lambdrover I spent 2 hours searching both houses and the loft again tonight, finally I found the right box for the battery tray, so that is now fitted; And on the other side is the fuse board fixing panel; Also got the fuel filter, screen washer pump, electric door shut connectors and the coil fitted.

Wipers are now fitted, made my own stainless washers from some penny washers and punched them out on the fly press so just need to order the felt ones to finish. Motor fitted in top of the cage; Also been polishing the front chassis rails, so sore fingers now! Front struts temporarily fitted while I search the loft for the next bits!

That might take a while as I need new halfshafts - or at least my shortened ones need looking at as they don't fit the splines in the new diff ~ few thou out somewhere. Front end should be soon hopefully, got to find the wheel bearings first though!

Today was another good day in the garage Got the roof bows fitted (no photos – forgot) Spent a lot of time going round the car tapping out all the threads to remove the paint – cordless drills are very useful for this! Then fitted the fuel pump, but lost the pinch bolt for the bracket – I expect it will turn up at some point, probably hiding with the handbrake which has also gone missing Got the brakes fitted; Also fitted the cable outlets to the rear valence for the lights & tow hook plug, trunking will be longer and shrink wrapped into the teardrops etc for total waterproofing. And flatted & polished the dashboard. Then fitted it and thought, f**k me, that looks the dogs bo**ocks! Very happy with it More soon.
