Today I found out I'm a complete numpty. I looked at fixing my fuel guage, It keeps reading full - hence running out during the test. I thought I'd sorted it as one of the connections was not tight, but the last few days it's been reading full again. Stripped it out of the tank and tested it with ohm meter and all good? Wired it up out of tank and all good. Put it back in tank and it reads full? Stripped it right down and look inside the sender but all wiring ok, put it back and it worked perfectly untill I touched it to the tank At this point I gave it a stiff talking to, but this did not help. I then went to full shouty swearing mode and even threatened it with death if it did not work, but it still refused to play ball. Decided there may be a short in the wiring, so stripped back the shrink wrap to have a look and then I found out what the fault was. The fault was I'm a numpty!!! . . . . . . I'd only gone and wired it back to front! earth to sender and sender to earth....DOH!!!! Wired the right way round and everything is fine again - only took 2 hours to sort that one

It's for storing the car on a wall rack, right?

Training wheels - That or the Zimmer frame storage is a bit on the tight side.

My Mrs gave me a nice surprise tonight, you will have to wait till tomorrow for photos but she arranged a collage of photos of the car as a quilt cover for our caravan tent for car shows.

He has a matching pillowcase as well And the one for our camper; Ellis will be overjoyed to have a matching cover - probably insist on using it for the whole of the year at home too. Hopefully make his weekend with us at the show an awesome one.

10's are a possibility if I spent another £5,000 on the engine, lol!
Realistically I think low 12's or if I'm very, very lucky high 11's are about the limit with what is in there at present.I may fit a taller cam in at some point which will wake it up a bit more & I could fit a bigger carb for racing but after that it would be new heads, inlet & carbs to get it faster.

Bit more progress, first up the easy stuff which is checking the size & font for some signwriting. Scoop first, size is ok but font is not quite right, probably get this done by the pinstriper and he can stylise it far better. Next is the rocker covers - happy with these; and side windows; Then I made a little tray in 2mm ally at work, which will hold phone etc; which fits here; Indicator housings are back from powder coaters and fitted, almost invisible now; Close up; I'll dust these over with a light coat of transparent black as well so they should completely dissappear then.

Last night - as it was hot I thought I'd work up a sweat by taking the front suspension apart on drivers side I wanted to check the uncompressed spring length as well as the strut pressure settings on the adjuster when not under load. This is because its a bit oversprung at present, I've put the original softer springs back in the rear but want to soften up the front a bit more. Unfortunately this brought to light an issue that I suspected but needed confirming - the strut is missing some oil in the damper. Years ago when I painted them I removed the anodised adjuster knob to paint, but I forgot how it went back together and with the messing around I did not install it back in the same position as original which resulted in a bit of leakage. I investigated this a bit more last night, sussing the correct position for ressembly but losing more oil in the process. Topped it up the best I could with jack oil for now but it will need a proper rebuild by Leda as it is not as firm in the damping as it should be. It will have to wait till after the Gathering now as it's going to a couple of shows in between and there won't be enough time to get them done. I've ordered softer springs which should arrive tomorrow, so will see how they feel when fitted. Originally I had 300lb springs, rode rather nice but sat too low, currently have 500lb fitted which sit exactly right but too firm. 400lb ordered so will see how they sit and can pre load them a bit to tweak ride height if required.

Looks awesome. Will the lettering be etched on the side glass? With regards to the scoop 355ci I'm sure a decent sign writer will take that as the guide and do it in their own hand. That's quite a tough space to work in though I imagine. I'd love to be signwriting hot rods and the like someday. I practise like hell but I'm nowhere near ready yet, as I just proved by having a quick go at lettering 355ci with my brushes and my practice paint on the cover of a sketch book. Be relieved and reassured that I will not be offering to do it for you as a favour.

lol!
Scoop unbolts so should be easy to work on. 'Tootal' paul will do it at the Supernats for me.
Lettering on glass and engine will be vinyl graphics.
