Right. Now I understand a little more... Lets just do my little project then, purely for the sake of your idle hands and over-spinning brain. That way, I can reframe it as me doing you a favour, as opposed to you doing me one. It's a subtle difference, but it means that it's now you who needs to pay me in beers, not the other way round

Correct QM, bored of not having something to build every night if I so wish. I'm at my happiest tinkering in the garage so when there are no jobs to be done I get bored sitting indoors. I'd like another project, but it was a huge job to do (next would be quicker as I've learnt from my mistakes) so I would not be in a rush to start another. I don't really have room for a second car otherwise a part built car would be an option. As mentioned before, I'd consider doing small jobs for other people as well. Thought there was an Outlaw trailer in your future?

Lots of people do things for the doing of them, rather than the end result. I’d honestly not be bothered if my lorry was never finished...
I am, however, quite frustrated that it’s barely started... 😜

I've been building it on and off since 1991 so it's an end of an era! It's always been there in the background as fun/solace in times of pain/defence against boredom/joy of building etc.

They are vented, thought about an upgrade to Wilwood 4 pots but they work really well as they are so I'm very happy with them.

This is something that I have found to be very satisfying and enriching and probably destined to be the future of my car hobby when the Molvo is finished. Not so much satisfying in the $$$ way, but because I have met some good people and been able to advance their projects and my capabilities while using their wallets. I have also discovered that in no way would I want to do this as a business; if I could not pick and choose the projects, it would become drudgery in a hurry.

Nothing photo worthy to report but been tweaking stuff. New softer springs have helped a lot so ride is much more enjoyable now. May need a bit more tweaking yet though. Brakes seem ok now (still original pads but cleaned again and sanded smooth before fitting as noticed only 50% bedded in after cleaning last time) but tracking needs re-setting as all the suspension stripping down has caused a faint pull to the left. New radiator fan switch on order as the one I have is a bit low temp causing the fan to run a bit too much. Noticed the switch has been leaking a little - re sealed it but I think the mount in the rad might have a small crack in the solder joint This is a new radiator so a bit unhappy about that if I'm correct. Not too difficult to solder it back up though. Had the exhaust off to re-paint the headers as driving in the torrential rain had taken its toll on the paint, we will see how it fares in the future as to whether I have them professionally coated. Going on a few drives has shown the best place for the rearview mirror so a new aluminium bracket has been made to mount it correctly - I can see what is behind me properly now and still see all the switchgear Just little tittivating jobs getting ready for the NSRA Supernats on Thursday

If you get the exhaust coated, I've nothing but good to say about Zircotec. Reduced temps a lot on our rally Fiat and still looks good as new years later.

I had the exhaust manifolds on my MGB V8 conversion ceramic coated over 10 years ago and these still look fine and they also should give lower underbonnet temperatures and this could be true as i have never overheating problems and know that lots of MGB V8 conversions suffer from overheating.

I've had a quote from Zircotec a few years back that was stupidly expensive so that's not really an option. Headers have been hot metal coated but the guy used the wrong metal so its gradually being cooked off.

Well, you know when you think ......I'll just fix that little leak on the rad............ .........and you get the propane torch out and suddenly all the solder is on the floor? Hmmmm............. 2 hours later rad out, cleaned up, re soldered properly and refitted. Run car up to temps and it still has a tiny weep Might try wiping a red hot nail over it or maybe a dose of radweld for now as 2 shows to get to over the next 2 weekends before I can get it off to do it again.

Yes ZT was expensive, but has stood the test of time.

Yes ZT was expensive, but has stood the test of time. I had the headers on my 3.5 Rover P6 done by Zircotec 10 years ago - solved all the problems of under bonnet heat / fuel vaporisation / cosmetic appearance in one foul swoop - expensive yes but fit & forget and never have to worry about them again

But they quoted over £1200 for coating, I can get new stainless ones custom made for half that. Temp not really an issue, just finish.

Ah - mine were circa £400 when I had them done - they do a lot for the race teams including F1 so maybe now they have cornered a lucrative market they just don't want the humble one off's from the like's of us therefore they stupidly price things to avoid the majority of the working mans market - stuff em in that case

Apples and oranges :-) You can't compare price of new stainless with existing plasma coated :-) If you aren't worried about heat then go with the stainless.
I had my complete system (apart from the box) coated by Zircotec a few years back. Expensive, yes but, as mentioned above, you get what you pay for.
Great job on the Pop, by the way.
