^^^thanks **blush** Finished flatting off tonight with 2500 grit, almost shiny just with that. Just had time to start mopping the top of the bonnet before finishing tonight - first cut with the hard mop but its already coming up nice. Just have to finish the lot off tomorrow night !!

It's going to be awesome even if it's not finished to your standards. We put in a 24 hour session before getting the Goddess to Goodwood and it still wasn't finished to anyone's standards. There is always 'something else' left . It's like the approach to light speed, the closer you get, the further away it is. Spock out

Thanks for the encouragement(?) I think! Sorry, please look on it as a sort of gruff, manly encouragement of the 'Good Job' variety and don't sweat the small stuff. We're supposed to enjoy what we do

That's ok, I knew what you meant Oh well, after 7 hours straight it's still not quite done Should be able to finish it off tommorrow, gonna be a late night finish I think. Here's a sneak preview of a bit of it though - 'bits' in photo are dust off the polishing cloth;

Apologies for not updating the thread since the show - the car did make it to Wheels day though! It was a bit of a trial - hiring a trailer, buying retaining straps, late night getting car ready & early mornings getting trailers & getting the car there. Of course as I had no windows in it it chose to rain most of the day - 3 days of sunshine after the show of course!! Car ended up with 1/2" of water in it - lots of mopping ensued during the day to try to keep it semi dry, not the best day to debut the car, but at least custom Car want to do a feature on it soon - hurray Here it is looking a bit wet; Apologies to the small child when I blipped the throttle on open headers - he nearly 5hit himself

I was at wheels day, how did I not see this!! Truly inspirational work throughout the build and I would have loved to have a look in person.
Are you at all local to Aldershot?

A bit more progress after drying it out from Wheelsday. Templated the front & rear screens; And got them cut in 6mm MDF as templates; Also working through the snag list - weeping thermostat housing turned out to be a banana shaped face on the housing surface :roll eyes: no wonder I could not get it to stop. A stint on the linisher saw it nice & flat again so with some RTV sealant applied it should now be leak free.

I've only just noticed where the front number plate is. Up until now I had assumed you just hadn't fitted it at all to keep it clean and tidy.

Hah, yes - thought I'd at least have a nod towards legality with a front plate

Took it to a local show today about 6 miles away - hands were shaking when I got there lol! Bit cold without the glass so need to get that sorted asap as well. I got the rear sides templated this afternoon and started on the door glass templates so should have the windows sorted in the next couple of weeks. Brakes are ok but I think some upgrades are required to get them to the level I will be happy with. Photo of it at the local meet;
