I sold my Mk2 Golf ( retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=1181562744&page=1) last week, with a view to breaking my habit of owning golfs. Wanted another VAG motor but went for something a bit different an more retro this time: It's a very early Mk2 Scirocco 1.5 CL, the base spec model of which they only built 3000. The single wiper is original, later cars had two, and the rub strips I'm told were a dealer fit extra! I have to say I'm having a blast owning it so far, don't understand why sciroccos are so overlooked!

Plans wise, a bit of bodywork tidying, and a big slam, and my 13x8 alleycats!

That looks good. Will be fun to get the 13x8 allycats on with a big slam mind. There are a few early Mk2 rocco's in autotrader without the bodykits, they look soo much cleaner.

Beautifully understared and retro looking. Sciroccos are cool.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Very cool car mate and it has the now very rare single light grill! Can't wait to see it on its ass, they look awesome slammed on tiny wheels. A few pics of one of my favorite 'Rocco's to inspire you...

Always loved Scirocco's really tidy styling and in terms of scene tax they are under the radar. Good ones seem to cost pea nuts!
Wide rims good sticking, JOB DONE ;D

It's funny, I've never see one of these with the small headlights before this thread, and then today I saw one on my way back from Uni here in Bath! Was almost identical, I think the guy bought it to replace his utterly rotten Mk1 Storm. I'd never seen one of them before his either.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

8's on the front at current ride height. Might have to go back to the drawing board.... I'm thinking find a pair of 7's and tuck em under

Time for an update. Gone for coilies on it, cheap ones mind, same sort as I had on the Mk2, which were hard and low! Had a crack at fitting em at the weekend, only got the rears on, as I'm waiting on new top mounts for the front. It needs a pair of new wings, so I might look at pulling the front arches to cover the 8's. A pair of new 7" allycats is £150 plus tyres which I hadn't really budgeted for. Here's how it sits now: (don't worry there's another 30mm drop to go on the rear!)
