Afternoon folks!
Since i last posted any of my cars up i have sold my ERA Mini Turbo Replica.
I now own this, i'll just copy something out of my forums blog.. if you want more pictures etc just shout
Year: 1981
Make: Austin Morris
Model: Mini HL Estate (Clubby Estate to most of you)
Engine: 998cc
Colour: Mace Brown
Previous Owners: 1
Mileage: 43491
Condition: Original, Unrestored and Rusty
How was the car acquired?
After selling my ERA Replica i was on the look out for a Mini Estate.
They are getting hard to find these days especially in my neck of the woods.
I made a wanted post on a local Mini Club Forum, one day later a chap called Keith replied.
He showed me this picture:
And he then said he was after £500, even better it was hiding 2miles up the road!
I arranged to view it that day, so Chris (Britstowe of this parish) picked me up and we drove to the guys house.
We followed him to his lockup.
I said i wanted to drive it before purchasing it so i backed it out of his lockup (which was on a savage slope) and as i flew out he shouted "NO BRAKES" boy did i panic, stuck it in first and floored it! Only just missing the brick wall behind me
I then said i wanted it for sure but i was only willing to pay £450, he agreed and the job was a good'un.
He delivered it on the 10th April 2007.
Has the car been restored?
Nope, never seen a welder.
What is the current state of the car?
Needs some welding, some work on the electrics, brakes adjusting then it should be near enough at MOT standard.
What are future plans for the car?
To do the above before next years Castle Combe MiniWorld Action Day.
Any photos?
Yup..
Day it was delivered..
