cheeqi, that thing is bloody marvellous - i love civics and if it looks anything as mean as it does mocked up with those E30 wheels it will be fecking superb

They look right at home there cheeqi - and you'll be able to attend their meets as at least part of the car will be VAG qualified  Good to see this progressing, keep up the ingenious approach. Have a pic or two of my mates resto - done now and (I think) sold on.  and  John |

Cheers for the comments and pics guys, your mates one looks minty as minty John, what are the wheels off? Finally got the Sierra of Doom MOT'd so I spent this week getting my garage tidier and more importantly warmer! Got an ex coach diesel fired heater, looks traveller in this pic, wiring and exhaust are now much less traveller looking! Got it to t-shirt temperature on Thursday night!  This afternoon, garage tidied and mojo much improved by conditions, I got back into the rust replacement. Usual stuff, chop out rust, make new bits, buzz em in.      More soon  |

oldbus - cheers Dave, it wasn't that nice actually, see below Parmenion CivicS - I'm getting the middle welded up so I can get it on a level and start 'phase 2' I found 3 complete build threads from people who've done what I plan to already, albeit with different vehicles  Cheers for all the encouragement folks, it helps  Well, I ignored my own advice got all carried away, didn't quench it enough and ended up with enough heat distortion to make the original part of the sill go all corrugated  Bu99er! At least the 2 bits of rear quarter and the bottom seam went in alright so it wasn't a total waste of time. So I cut a strip with the weld and the distorted bit out, and extended the sill up to just under the first swage up.    Sorted, I hope. I also found the pictures from the front corner behind the sill, I'm going to be remaking the floor but i've kept it in for the moment so that I've got some reference points whilst I sort the sills. How it looked before  Previous patch had been slapped on over the rust, which had just carried on eating.  Make a new bit, weld it in and polish out the welds, as this area will be visible from both sides.    More soon |
