Wow, throttle bodies look super-sexy. I can't wait to see what the new set-up looks like in full. I'm so glad this thread is back on track, I was absolutely glued to it back when I joined RR.

Small update, lots of things happening but not much picture progress..... I`ll get some shots of the engine all back together soon as I need to change the supercharger mounting arrangement to suit the drysump pump and engine mounting, which will need to change too.... But in other news: Sigma Billet Steel flywheel to suit 7 1/4" racing clutch now in stock ;D I have a lovely TTV Billet flywheel to take a std size but uprated clutch, but speaking to scholar, that will start to struggle over 200bhp ;D So when the offer of one of these came up to suit a 7 1/4" AP Race/Rally clutch at a sensible price, I couldnt really turn it down... Its just "In stock" at the moment so if I do have a problem, then I already have a solution for it ;D Weighs 4.5kg complete I have a set of Elise calipers all cleaned up now, so I just need to design the brackets and get those machined and anodised. Sadly I don't think the Lysholm Charger is going to work without a lot of changes, so I may cut my losses and move that on..... A year or too down the line then 1.6 Ecoboost engines will be more plentiful and will be a straight drop in with a new loom and good for more than 250hp pretty much standard so that might be a better move for more power..... Downsized High pressure turbocharged engines have become the new route forwards for OEMs I suppose thats the difference 4 years make while this has been stuck in a barn

Dragged up from the depths to show the original flywheel, to take a std size clutch: Mmmmn New billet flywheel clutch side: Trigger wheel side: It weight 4.2 kg complete with ring gear ;D and cost less than machining 2kg off the standard flywheel would have cost

Flywheel looks good, are you going for cerametallic or a hybrid kevlar thingy plate? I have been anodising at home (check out my ST205 thread), you should have a go I am sure the brackets would come up a treat J

I`ll get all the Bracketry anodised by Clive, its just not worth it for me to do it myself, I`ll just give him a big batch of stuff and let him get on with it ;D

Dom,
Can I just say that I really enjoy all of the proper engineering in this build and I love the way that the build has evolved without the good engineering ideals and vision that you have instilled being diluted.
Thanks for keeping us up to date! Are you going to be at the Gathering with this?
Rysz.

Hi,
If you are still looking for rear disc setup which fit in 13". Try Suzuki Swift Gti. I have managed to fit inside my Hayashi Street 13"x7 for my Mini.
Cheers Atchi

Building roof chopped, screen raked '68 Mini with G13B 1.3 16v Gti engine with LSD, Yamaha R1 carbs. As well as mk1 Suzuki Swift Gti AWD with a turbo. Drives PHEV Outlander but wishing my mk1 Swift Gti or mk2 CRX Vt were still with me!

Thanks for keeping us up to date! Are you going to be at the Gathering with this? Rysz. Thanks Rysz, I really appreciate the support. Its funny revisiting a lot of the work that I have already done on it (With a view to improving it) and then realising, actually it was all thought out and engineered properly 4+ years ago....... I just seem to have forgotten a lot of the thought process / been overtaken by Life as we have gone on Supercharger "Upgrade" is a case in point....actually the Eaton is correctly sized, it packages very well indeed and all the engineering on it is complete bar the shouting..... The Lysholm would require tearing all that up and although possible, probably wont give me the result I want without a load of internal work as well. The sensible upgrade, fully in keeping with the "Standard base engine- Unopened" philosophy that I started with, is to go 1.6L Ecoboost base engine if I need more power, as all the expensive bits will transfer Drysump Mountings Bellhousing ECU etc Would need a new Loom and GDI Injector drivers and an exhaust down pipe Exhaust but effectively its a bolt in and hook up job rather than a re-engineering excercise. ;D Hoping to have some more progress shots soon, but rejigging the "Daily" fleet is priority at the moment. It`d be nice to think it will be at the gathering, but realistically I very much doubt it...... I want it to be right, I don't want to be excusing stuff on it all weekend if that makes sense...... And I would be doing a lot of that the way it stands at the moment People will "Get it" when its done, but a lot of the thinking behind it is not apparent at the moment and it just looks like a rusty shell with a collection of bits that has just been dragged out of a barn ;D (Which is effectively what is there) But its only a Blast away from a totally different opinion ;D On the other hand, I could Rattlecan it matt black, Stickerbomb the rear quarter and put some polished rims on it.......all valid and look good when done right, but thats not really what I`m about with this at all. I suspect I`ll turn up in the Beemer and have some fun with that up the hill instead ;D
