Hi All , first post, so i hope you like it. I'm Martin and I drive this (when it lets me ) It is/was an Austin FX4 (London Taxi) its got austin westminster rear axle, granada front clip, did have a 3.0 perkins diesel (but I broke that, it went into meltdown) I'm currently rebuilding a Rover V8 to put in it, but I've run out of funds so it's on hold for a while . after the engine is in it'll be lowered, with soem whitewalls and I'll possibly be painting it in a dark satin purple with a bright white gloss grill. Hope you like it Martin

What a weapon!!! Wonderful. Love the idea of these industrial engines in old cars. I'd love to see a modern perkins 6.6 litre straight six common-rail engine in an old clunker, maybe something like a Rover P5.

That's brilliant, do I spy some Moggy in the front of the bonnet and some Chevy in those grille bars?

well spotted chap, moggy 1000 bonnet grafted onto the end of the original bonnet , and the grille is either from a chevy or styled on a chevy. glad you like it

I spent my early years in a house divided into two flats, the downstairs was occupied by a Spanish family. The Father, Juan, was, according to my Dad, who is a wibblepoo hot mechanic, " The best mechanic I have ever seen" One of his projects was to put a 6 cylinder Bedford TK lump into a Rover P4, so they could drive down to Spain in it................... We merely recycle ideas don't we!

Looking at it again, it looks quite like an early Standard Vanguard Aussie spec Ute.

Dammit that's brilliant......its FX4 origins are not immediately apparent, the sign of a great custom job. Love it!

That is the shizzle! 1000 cool points to you Sir! I love the little 'kick up' of what used to be the line of the back door on the pick up bed. Have you thought about a Transit TDCi lump or a Merc Sprinter if you were going to venture down the oil boiler route?

That photo was taken when Colin owned it so I don't think would lead to any more history.
