£150 with long MOT from my nextdoor neighbour. 2.3 Manual 8v, clutch is a little absorbent for my liking but that is easy to rectify. This thing is so easy to get sideways, the turbo ones must be hilarious to drive. Some shots from the first test drive! Needs lowering at least by one fist Interior barely shows any signs of wear, leather is supple and not cracked, seats are adjustable and I've managed to get them into a semi-bucket pose Barely run in I tells ya! An engine, earlier. Doesn't seem to smoke or rattle, bit cammy but I can live with that. Rocker cover leaking a touch so I'll do that and re paint the cam cover at the same time. Airbox is now gone (not pictured) Greasy bits. Appears to be a live rear axle with ARB, pretty basic stuff and the main reason it's so easy to get out of shape. Those springs look nice and easy to drop out for a bit of attention from Mr Angle Grinder!

No idea - Haynes manual doesn't seem to think so though!

Okay, I said to myself "no mods" but a couple of bits and bobs isn't mods it's just fiddling I am such a chav. Can't fit the other footwell yet because one of the cathodes in the kit was broken, awaiting a replacement. I don't care if everybody hates them because I don't

Looks like a bargain for £150, and if looked after, the engines will go forever. Nice one.

Finished this one quicker than expected. Need the paint to harden before I can buff back the lettering to bare metal. I wanted to do a yellow cross on it like the Swedish flag, but couldn't find my yellow paint.

Looks like the seal in the oil filler cap has gone hard - pennies from dealer and will stop the leak...
EDIT: 'J' reg? With a cat? Do I see some excess restrictive baggage to be removed?

Centre box started blowing the other day, so maybe it's time to just bypass the cat and centre box with one long pipe.....

I'm liking it! as soon as you drop it, it'll start looking mean!
get clear indicators for the front, see if you can get lights for the rear (outer section) that don't have orange in.
Wonder how good it'll be it you just chop the larger outer springs? I expect it'll mean lower and slightly tougher ride rather than low and still slightly sloppy.
another + for the yellow for the rocker cover.
And, where'd you get your cathodes, could well be very handy in my footwells. Or is there some way of wiring up a computer molex connector?

Yeah just use the Molex - one of the black wires to earth it, the yellow wire is 12v, don't use the red wire. I got mine off ebay for about £8 I think? They're the same as you would use in a PC. I'd love to get the outer lights all red (or replace the orange with clear) but I don't recall ever seeing any. Maybe I could use that red tint stuff, it works well as long as you prep the lens firstly. Yellow on the rocker cover, can people photoshop me a few ideas? Yellow lettering, yellow cross with different colour/bare metal Volvo script, that sort of thing? I might try your idea for the rear springs, fronts will be cut initially and then I'm looking at going with those cheapo weld on coilover conversions because I've always wanted to give them a try. On the downside my Missus has just bought a 200SX S14a and now the Volvo feels ****

look at the price difference and you'll feel better. does hers go sideways as well? also look at how much luggage you can carry and she cant. but yeah, fair play how pokey is the volvo? Oh right, well if you need any more cathodes go to www.ebuyer.co.uk cost about £2 there! I've got a pair of UV ones I think which will give a nice purple glow, or I'm sure I've got another one or 2 computer lights lying around, used to be into modding PC's!
