Hey all. Bin enjoying reading about all yer stuff for some time - decided to post my humble contribution. It started like this... I found these pistons from a Mk3 Zephyr. If you machine 4mm off that nice thick CROWN, and knock the skirt off at that 4th ring groove, you can drop them into one of these... .. which is a BLMC 1800 - suitably bored out by 090" - and that gives you a 1905cc twin carb engine with 11/1 CR that lives in one of these... .. which you can lower a few inches so it actually goes around corners and looks more like this.. .. then you can use it for 12 years, in a variety of roles.. .. until its covered 300,000k's, during which time someone has given you several more of them, and you've discovered that you can convert the original 1700cc O series lump into a 2 litre by using Princess crank and pistons, to produce this.. .. after which you feel the need to make the 'his'... .. and 'hers' options.. .. and then you look around and find you've accumulated a number of the things.. .. so you gather inspiration from a site like this, and ponder over what to do next... Chiz.

Wow That is one mad collection Pity you are in New Zealand or I would be trying to buy one off you right now ;D I think you should put a Rover V8 in one next like they did for the 1974 London-Sahara-Munich rally. It goes without saying but more piccies and details are required Oh and welcome to the site

The late Marina has so much more style than the Ital that followed. The Ital was only good for one thing - its raspy morning exhaust.

Lol. Thanks chaps - I'll take that all as positive reinforcement..! Actually - must admit that the first (blue) car started out as a bit of a joke - but turned out so much better than I thought it might, that I became truly converted.. It really is an all-purpose vehicle - you can even sleep in it... I've been collecting stuff - as you do... The two webers will be fitted to the two yellow saloons once I have had suitable manifolds and extractors made. I'm hoping this will necessitate a slight 'power' bulge in their bonnets.. Slater - check the last picture in my first post - you'll see I have two vans - the red one turned out to have a fully carpeted bay - perfect for the camper role I have in mind for it.. This van will get another 1900 pushrod donk with the pictured 48mm dellorto - plus a bit of balancing and what have you, plus car cockpit treatment. Am currently experimenting with magic sticks (camshafts) for the 2 litre O series motors - hope to liberate some extra horsepower from them. Will keep you all posted of course.. Go well.

Not sure about shipping across half the known universe... One day these things might be worth enough for me to ship a whole container load over.. ;D Generally speaking - many of these cars enjoy rust-free bodies, despite having lived outdoors much of their lives. That makes it really easy (read 'cheap') to manage low spec projects such as these. Rims and tyres are the major expense. I can't go past the 13 x 7 Superlites as the right looking numbers. Cornering with these wheels is so far removed from the originals you would not believe. Track is also wider by 3" which makes a vast difference to stability. Got several sets of Princess dual-pot callipers to graft on in due course - so now I shall concentrate on increasing horsepower - the fun bit..! Worth noting that all the featured cars are autos. I converted the blue one - the others all factory. The manual box does not take kindly to much abuse - whereas the BW 65 is quite robust. Onward and overboard...

Hiya Dudes. Jeez - we must have had the entire Marina contingent here now... no..? Yeah - the blue car is my favourite drive fer sure. Something about the amount of torque that thing puts out - makes it addictive. All the pics are in Canterbury except the Marina/Marina which is Havelock. Close..! I live in Lyttelton, so Banks Peninsula is my playground - where all the twisty stuff is... :-) Did a bit of gravel road exploring yesterday...
