I hope mine looks 90% as good ... You've done an awesome job and I will steal good ideas, like those headlights and the digital gauges ... stop taking pictures, though, because I'm getting a serious jones!

Hi Si,
Haven't been on here in ages. Was reading a few pages back and saw the mention about the vibration. Mine has got a vibration too, maybe two different kinds.
1. Is when accelerating hard over 5000 rpm and gets louder as the revs rise.
2. Same as yours, decelerating dissappears when i press the clutch.
My car is fitted with solid front top mounts, fully polybushed. I changed the centre bearing and changed the gearbox mounts, no change...

Hi Tony... You're running the 4age aren't you? Have you got a custom propshaft? Hi Si, Kind of, its a cut down and "balanced" (according to the place that did the work) standard propshaft. Thinking bout going one piece custom in order to get rid of some weight and the centre bearing (one less variable) Tony PS: The car is still looking as amazing! |

Maybe it is the prop then,as it is something all three of us have in common. It just doesn't feel/sound like a prop vibration to me though  |

How are your gearbox mounts? What about the engine mounts? I know I have one that is a bit dodgy and i may revisit the mount to engine brackets in case they are flexing.

Did I say this earlier? The look of your car is inspiring me to keep banging away on mine. You did a seriously good job on it! I'm using one of your pics as a 'what a real one looks like, in contrast to my shed'! The way it's going I'll have it running in a couple months, maybe even take it for an illegal spin around the block in a mocked up state ... maybe I'm in La La Land!

Hi HKP, Still haven't tracked down my similar vibe. I have played with the diff nose angle to know it isn't that now. I did find this company : www.vibrationfree.co.uk/They do all kinds of vibration analysis and in-situ balancing on cars. Not sure how much these services cost, but they're not a million miles from you, might be worth a call? |
