Hi all, I've browsed the site a few times and thought it was time I registered. Heres some (old) pics of my Golf. Unfortunately it no longer looking like this. It is currently off the road receiving a bit of TLC, and some upgrades ;D I'll post some pictures of it's progress. Cheers, Gaz

My spare room is full of parts i've slowly gathered. Upgrades; Polybushes all round, Quaife Quick rack, Brake upgrade, Coilovers, strut braces I also have a new tailgate and front wing that need fitting. oh, i've also been GIVEN a low mileage MK2 GTi so maybe an engine change too. Problem is i'm very short of money and my mechanical knowledge is not the best. this may all take some time.

yes ive seen u about in this mr chap; nice example to work with there.. been off the road long?? - I'm sure i saw it a few days ago tho? gave it a lil blip on the old b&q/silkmore island...? i was alongside u in my tatty calibra..

yeh, that'd be me, think i remember seeing you. it's only been off the road for a couple of weeks. Fuel line needs replacing as it's leaking petrol everywhere.

What are the sizes of your ATS wheels? any idea what the ET is? And what kind of lowering do you have? 80/60mm?

The ATS were 7x13", off set was ET30 (I think) with 175/50 tyres. I say "were" as i no longer have them. I swapped them, and a bit of cash, for a MK2 GTi - which now has a blown head gasket So I currently have 2 GTis i can't drive

Lovely Mk I there fella, they look so cool in white. I am in a very similar siutation with mine although I don't quite have the list of goodies stashed away that you do. Will get there in the end though.

Not been on here for a while. Thought I'd post a small update of what's going on with the MK1. I've not really achieved much so far. Just been strippng it down and sourced a 2.0L 16 valve engine for it. I mostly been cleaning and polishing sorry about the rubbish quality pictures. I've broken my digi camera so I'm using my phone rear seat belt mount Welding we be happening in the next few weeks then the real progress will begin ;D
