.... modifications to the transmission tunnel so a seat can be got in. I sold the standard Healey seats as they had no head restraints and I'd like to avoid as much whiplash as possible in a situation. It's such a narrow cockpit that a seat width of only 18 inches will fit and this is the 'wide' version for my lardy rse! .... and it's in and I fit in too. unfortunately the rollcage won't let the seat go back any more so any passenger will have to be short or very flexible !

Stop press.... breadboard is a POS and I can't solder for sh1t either. A proper circuit board is needed and 5 hours of head scratching later we had a professional(?) looking 2-layer LED and resistor layout and the first tracks partially laid in. of course I still need to get a low volume quote on the boards so if anyone else out there would like some 3" diameter, low profile, LED, custom side/turn/stop lights then give me a shout.

Regret they can only be 75mm diameter so that would rule out the BMW lights. Do you know what diameter the Ghia lights are?
Cheers,
Ian

....now this I like. 1954 car needs 'parking' brake but it doesn't need a handbrake so an electronic line lock on the back brakes does the job. Cushty ;D ;D ;D Now THAT is a clever idea! I'm converting the rear of the Cutlass to discs, and the versions available with parking brake mechanisms are WAY more expensive than those without. Looks like I could use this line lock system as a trick alternative!

Looks like I could use this line lock system as a trick alternative! not in the UK you cant. automatic mot fail. you have to have 2 entirely seperate braking systems, be they mechanical or hydraulic. 99% of cars in the uk now have a hydraulic service brake and a mechanical emergency brake which most people call a handbrake or parking brake, mostly cos its the cheapest way for manufacturers to do it, but it doesnt have to be this way. for example my merc is going to run 2 pairs of rear calipers, one for the standard service brake, and one for the hydro handbrake/E-brake, that will have totally seperate lines, master cylander and resevoir. fully legal and its give me a WAY better handbrake
