Some may have seen my previous thread about buying a 318is. Turned out that it was a cat C write off repaired, so I left that. Found this by accident! It's a 1990 BMW 318is (this ones HPI clear ) Left the house at 5am - Me and my mate Ally aka "Cripple" arrive in Chester at 8.20 Just before leaving the sellers house - car was pretty much as described - a refreshing change and got loads of free parts Ally picked up one too, sure why not - lazerblau 91 318is Some of the great scenery on the drive to the ferry! The interior is like new - no cracks on dashboard, no marks on the seats. (white mark on seat is a bit of paper) Diamondschwartz black metallic -35mm H&R spring Koni and Avo adjustable shocks all round E46 M3 cab rear top mounts New discs and pads on rear to BMW spec New discs and pads on front to BMW spec New rear backbox genuine BMW Unmarked dark check IS cloth interior IS lip spoler 15" BBS wheels New door and boot seals SE sideskirts Rear blind New timing chain New Viscous cluch and fan New sump gaskits New Fuel Pump 4.27 diff (very nippy) Removed heater plates on TB Genuine BMW mat set Black headlining Front fog lights Very good strong motor and drivechain BBR Star chipped FSH (Mostly BMW) An inch thick stack of receipts Full Tool kit Performed faultlessly on the drive home - love it and cant wait to iron out a few tiny niggles it has

now I like these a lot- a 1980's desing icon in my opinion. think "Loadsa Money!!"
the E30 is one of those cars than can look amazing if looked after but really bad if let go and unloved. this one is clearly the former!
v. smart.

I paid what I feel is a fair price for the car - good black ones are hard to find and it has had some proper money spent on it. My mates was an absolute bargain though, but I would never have bought it as it's nothing like what I wanted (don't like blue cars).
I love driving it - gonna go home and wash it tonight - felt like muck getting into the Landcruiser this morning, wanted to take the iS!

Well Irish plates are on. Kinda disapointed with them, the 90 isnt at the same level as the rest. Ah well, it'll do for now. (bit dirty) Fitted the new headunit today - it's well fancy, was £350 new or something. Wiring was an ABSOLUTE mess inside there but I worked it out eventually, and its now sporting a new ISO connector with the correct adaptors etc for the stereo. Cant wait to fit my new components to the front (hopefully tomorrow): www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jbl-c508gt...51147435e555fe4and some infinity speakers into the back Also need to replace the broken Eleccy Aerial - unscrewed the cap and the aerial came out whole..

Ditto! No probs with laquer here, but red paint is very prone to 'clouding' plus I have a couple of tiny blebs to sort out soon

Yeah, red is extremely prone to fading but nothing some elbow grease wouldn't sort out. A lot of black ones iv seen have laquer probs it seems.

Mine has no laquer probs (well in around the window seals, but you cant see it), but its had a shopping car park life I think.
On another note - fitting components into the front of the e30 is a pain in the groin.
