Well i've been a busy boy the last few days playing with my jetta as its going to be my daily driver. So first and foremost was to get it slammed! Thanks to philj off here for supplying me with an 80/60 springs and shocks kit, instructions would have given me a rough guide but i had a handy friend to help me out so no bother there. Here's a pic of before i lowered her... Like a barge I'm sure you will agree.. I trial fitted one of my compomotive MO's to see how they sat. I'm leaving these off until after the MOT as a couple of the tyres are low , not illegal but don't want to risk failiure Here's a pic... Then i set about making my white bumpers black again, the old heatgun sorted this out no bother. Before.... After.... Ignore the tape, thats my mate curse word about! Andy

Nice, good to see some other Jettas about. Did you buy that from ebay a few weeks ago? If so, I very nearly bid on it myself, I asked the bloke selling it loads of questions! They look loads better with proper coloured bumpers don't they, thats one of the things I did when I collected mine too. Any big plans for it?

Yeah i bought it outside of ebay in afew weeks back now, the boy who owned it had messed around with everything and didn't run, no rotor arm lol!
No big plans as yet. The wheels are going to be refurbed in gloss black i forgot to add and maybe sometime dropping a 1.8 16 lump in there.
The black bumpers are a huge improvement, I'm made up how well they came out, they're not in the best conditon anyway but an improvement all the same. I saw your other post there ratty, one cool jetta that looks! Love the colour! ;D

Very nice! Cant believe i scrapped one of these.
Does simply heating it with the heat gun help bring back the black colour?

Wow, thats in good nick. Mk 1 golf bumpers?? "maybe sometime dropping a 1.8 16 lump in there" Thats weird cuz thats the engine I want in mine too, I just bought a set of twin 40 webers, just need to find a donor car now. Emailed a few people on ebay, but don't really want to travel too far to pick up a 'spares or repairs' car.

The fading is all the wax etc thats been put on the bumpers which has faded, the heatgun simply burns off all the curse word. I'll be looking for a donor myself soon. I was told that the 1.8 would be the best one to fit. Hopefully get hold of a whole car and use what i need then sell the rest in parts. It'll have to be a buggered one though i wouldnt break a good gti!

Lemsip is good for colds/spluttering apparantly! Seriously though, does it have points ignition? That would be the first thing I'd look at.

It's strange as i've changed just about everything on the ignition system except for the dizzy cap! Thinking now it could be that. The filters are all clean too. I put in some of the addittive for unleaded petrol as I'm not sure if it's been converted for it. It was alot better but still allitle spluttery. Lemsip is a great idea, not sure it would work though?? Maybe some night nurse? lol! Could it just be to the fact it's not been used? Its only done 56 miles since its last mot? Other than the little splutter it's alot of fun to drive, i love it!

My vote is still with wibblepoo in the tank. Take the sender out and dangle a magnet in there, and clean out the pick up pipe
