Hi everybody
Heres me old escort which I've had since Nov. 2000, I paid way to much for it but then when your 16 you tend not to see anything other than your 1st ride!
I got it with the flames, then got rid of them last yr because I'd save £450 on insurance and well they were a bit naff! Then I went to the Ring for the 1st time and crashed. Then I rebuilt her this summer in green and got back to the Ring.
This is what happends when you try keep up with Porsche GT3's and you haven't fitted the ATB yet!
The Track pics are on the Ring this summer - if you haven't been you've got to!
She's now pretty well modded, heres the basic list:
1630cc engine - twin 40's, high comp. pistons, stage 3 head, some crazy cam (gives over 140 bhp at the flywheel so its got to be somet special), twin box 2inch exhaust with 4-2-1 manifold and its fully lightend and balanced
Suspension - spax rear, gas front dampers, lowered 2 inch all round, 20% stiff front spring, single leaf rears, anti-tramp bars and rear anti-roll bar (my own funny angled set-up) I'm about to fit adjustable TCA's and some home made compression struts so I can keep the anti-roll bar, gonna pop a quick rack on too.
Inside theres 3 point harnesses and cobra seats, a rear cage and all the fuel brakes lines run inside. Batterys also in the boot now.
Brakes - princess 4-pots on capri vented discs up front, cosy rear calipers on escort mk3 discs, all controlled by a bias-box (needed it to clear the carbs)
Gearbox is a type 9, single piece prop, english axle with Quaife ATB and 4.1 ratio FD so it accelerates pretty quick.
Thats it pretty much, oh the wheels on the picks are now changed for a set of Image 15x9" 3-piece split rims, I'll have to get some pics sometime.
Hope you like it.
