This is why the Gas van was sold! 42,000 miles from new. Bit of "rimmage" always works wonders!! apologies for crappy phone pics. Crying out for some hitting with "the stick" too ;D

Did the gas van get sold OK then? Who bought it?
Are those GT6 wheels? They look good. Loks like a nice van apart from the wing? Good work anyway.

Yeah Gas van is going to a Marina Club member so its future is safe. Just waiting for collection now. I'm lucky my sister don't mind having 3 Marina vans at her place although to get back to 2 will be better :-)
The mk1 will need a couple of wings, i've got one in stock the other i'll have to look out for. Its finding a decent place locally to do the job thats the problem - anyone recommend anywhere in Dorset?
Yes they're GT6 wheels with 185/60 tyres, i have some 195/55 's in "stock" so may get them on those wheels shortly for extra "bulge" ;D

I think i'll let you off selling the Gas van cos the van is great! I'd love one like that...one day! Rims look good too.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

i had a marina pickup many years ago, undid the torsion bars and jumped up and down on the bumper to lower the front, and took most of the leaves out the back and fitted escort lowering blocks, looked cool on its black steelies, no pics unfortunatly.

GT6 rims look nice but I though the commercials were on 4 1/2" PCD? Glad to hear the gas van is safe. Cosmics are still awaiting a little work before some tyres and fitting...

There was one very similar to that in "classic commerical" magazine few months back. What a shed! I would not have thought twice about crushing it but the guy got it back to better than new condition- Amazing.

GT6 rims look nice but I though the commercials were on 4 1/2" PCD? Glad to hear the gas van is safe. Cosmics are still awaiting a little work before some tyres and fitting... The Marina Van came in two different weight capacities, the heavier-duty one had the Triumph/MGB 4.5" PCD hubs...I had two Pickups with that setup on, both wore Stag alloys. The lighter duty model had standard Marina running gear so could run GT6 or Dolly Sprint rims. Brian

Got some 215/50/13s fitted to the rear, tyre place had fun fitting them as quite wide for 5.5" wheels! Took 2 of them to fit each tyre as they were reluctant to squeeze down to the rims ;D The 2nd photo shows van with normal ride height, the 3rd photo is with the 1.5" lowering blocks fitted Methinks i',m gonna be changing the springs too to bring it dwon at the rear, i'll "unwind" the front torsion bars in due course!

Cheap as chips to run, either 1098 or 1275 A-series but being based on a Marina means that anything fitted to a saloon will fit a van, so you can choose between an 1800 B-series from a Marina or MGB (I had a pickup with an MGB lump in it, absolutely uncontrollable in the wet), 1700 O-series or even (if you can find one) a twin-carbed 2-litre O-series from an SD1 Rover 2000.
I think the 820 twin cam lump was based on the O-series bottom end, so even that will fit with a bit of work....which means you could theoretically build a 200+ BHP turbo Marina Van...but that would take bo**ocks the size of footballs to hold on to :-)
