Lovely, I love the fact its the same age as me and its 70's ( yes it does matter! LOL) Hmm that Mini smell, and knocking the ashtray off as you climb in the back!! Arrrgh I'm getting mini fever, I want an old one with external hinges, one clock in the middle, standard hard seats and some where to put milk bottles! Great work CC looks like bags o fun

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

FAB! I do love a good mini The Mini 'scene' is hopelessly irritating, and the constant rust-chasing is a ballache, but there's nothing that can be so much fun with so little power. Ragging one on some twisties in 3rd and 4th, never touching the brakes and working on a 'momentum principle' is ace. I know where there is a nice 'barn fresh' pick up, just waiting for some 'treatment'. Hopefully I will make it mine one day.

I know where there is a nice 'barn fresh' pick up, just waiting for some 'treatment'. Hopefully I will make it mine one day. I've had enough of most "scenes" if I'm honest!, I'll just be concentrating on enjoying my cars from now on and bo11ox to what people think It's loads and loads of fun, I've wanted to get a '10" mini' for ages, and this one came up through work... it's had all the bad bits done (sills, inner and outer, floors etc) and it's solid where it counts with a mini , scuttle and A panels are ROCK solid, could use a pair of wings and front pannel one day... but that can wait My boss is WELL into them and does them as a hoby... well he pays for the parts, does some of the mechanicals and assembly, then pays my old man to weld em up, paint em etc... So I've a "mini specialist" next to the office... LOL, once he's done one, he sells it, then looks for another... he makes enough to pay my old man and keep his pair of mini 30's sweet... The car just "made sence" at the time, I can get parts cheap, get work done for nowt while I earn , it's perfect for the commute to work through rural Rutland's B roads, damn sight easier to park than the van too, so perfect for visiting folks who don't have decent parking Of course I don't "do" sensible, otherwise I'd have got a diesel euro box, but this is as close to "practicality" as I ever want to come Pog, that pickup sounds worth pursuing... look forward to hearing about it/seeing it in the future I am already lusting after more torque... and there's a stage 4 head sat in the office.... I may know of an 1100 short engine too.... So much for a cheap runabout

What was that? Sorry but a 2CV has puny power and is just as much fun to drive (yes, I did say that!). Well, to be fair, I find it hard to choose one over the other - as long as the road is smooth!
I was driving a mk1 Cooper (hydrolastic, 998cc twin carb) today and absolutely loved it compared to my wife's 998cc City E which I just find painful to drive. So much difference! Had I the funds, I would have snapped it up I think.

But we don't "do" 2CV's at work on the side Don't get me wrong, I like 2CV's too, just not the "right" car for me at the moment.

Curry's seems to have better lighting at closing time.. it's not rust free, but it is rot free which is handy and its a hoot to drive, I don't mind the harsh ride you get from rubber cones, and love the "flat" handling
